The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were excellent. The location is perfect, with lots of great dining and shopping options in walking distance. We would definitely stay here again! Just a heads-up for anyone renting a car, there is no hotel parking. Either park on the street or a close by parking garage, but understand this will be expensive no matter what.

Room was clean, staff were friendly and resourceful. Conveniently located in downtown area that allowed us to walk to major sightseeing locations and bus transfers. The breakfast menu was plentiful and my favorite was the sourdough pumpkin seeds bread.

This is a nice and clean hotel with a great location in the city. A large variety of food and shopping options nearby. If you are going on excursions, you will be picked up at nearby bus stops, not the hotel because the street is very narrow. The staff are multi-lingual and were very helpful. We had a lovely view of the city and harbor, but new construction is blocking the view of the bay. Food is very, very expensive in Iceland, so prepare your travel budget wisely. We enjoyed our stay, the city and the country. It is a unique place in the world and beautiful.

We had a good stay at Alda Hotel in Reykjavik. The location is excellent, it’s walkable to a lot of famous and interesting sites of the city with lots of restaurants and shops. The rooms are clean and well maintained (room 214 could benefit from more stronger shower water pressure, but the sink and toilet were ok). L’Occitane bath amenities. Staff were friendly and willing to help. We included the breakfast buffet with our stay, it was ok but would be better if they change some of the offerings each day. The hotel has a restaurant (Brass), a barbershop, a Starbucks, a gym, and a sauna. There’s free street parking from 9p-9a and there’s a nearby pay parking garage (pay street parking is costlier vs garage if outside the free times). We would consider to stay again at Alda Hotel if we go back to Iceland.

All you need for a great stay in downtown Reykavik

Well appointed Scandinavian style rooms. Good size room for Iceland. The hotel had all the services to offer. The only drawback is a lack of a guest lobby to lounge in outside of your room. In Iceland you are normally out of the room all day, but it would have been nice to have a spot to kick back.

The property is located in an excellent area, staff was super nice specially Michelle. There should be a smart TV where apps can be used by guests, their tv had no channels other than news and we could not use any of our accounts. The lighting in the room was so dim and insufficient. The sink in the bathroom was even smaller than a new born baby sink.
