Checked in late (here for a wedding) and the hot tub was already closed which was disappointing. Wish the hours were a little more flexible. This property has a lot of stairs and ledges, even within the rooms which may prove difficult for disabled guests. The rooms are nothing fancy. The rest of the hotel is where the real theme is and very cool to see. Breakfast was lovely. I enjoyed my stay.
The Viking hotel is a very unique experience which is what we were looking for. Since we were 4 people in our party we stayed in one of their cottage rooms. Reminded me of girls camp from long ago. It had a loft with 2 single beds and a bunk bed plus single bed on the main floor with a bathroom on the main level. It was very clean as was the main hotel. Staff was very helpful in getting us taxi's and the morning buffet breakfast was very good. They had a resturant on site also that served outstanding food. They even had a couple that sang around the dining room. Very good option to the basic routine hotel experience.
Great property. The rooms were on the smaller side but the location was nice and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was great and the sauna and hot tub were also nice.
Very unique decor. Rooms are a bit dated but the one we had was sizable. The bed and bedding were comfortable. The bathroom is a bit small, plain and minimal. The staff were nice. No control of temperature in room. WiFi could be better, would come on and off. The sauna was nice. Good location. Would stay again.

The front desk staff were so kind and helpful. The dining staff was quiet, yet kept things running smoothly. The view from our room was amazing! There were hiccups, but the staff helped immediately. I.e. our shower wasn't draining and our lock stopped working, but it was all settled quickly.
The restaurant across the driveway did not have many options for drinks or food. It didn't meet the expectations of the photos advertised.
Although the room we had was small, it was perfectly adequate and clean. The beds were comfortable and the area was quiet. We had access to a hot tub and a very enjoyable sauna. The property offered a restaurant right across the courtyard and there were several other eateries within walking distance. Hafnarfjordur is a bit out of the way for getting to central Reykjavik, but there was a very convenient public bus stop only a five minute walk from the hotel and we happily rode the buses to get into Reykjavik to walk around and see the sights.
Great little themed hotel. The staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was also excellent

We did not understand how far out of town--how far fraom anything--the hotel is. We booked a day tour and the website said we would be picked up at the hotel. But it turns out that the tour company no longer does that pickup. So we wasted our last day in Iceland seeing nothing. The hotel itself was clean and pleasant but if you do not have a car you can only eat in the hotel's restaurant.

The rooms were so small, in was absolutely embarrassing!!
What an amazing hotel, right on the harrbour, totally viking themed, koi carp in thebpool, dragons in the dining cave, and friendly staff and a hot tub, we will definitely visit again
We enjoyed the Viking theme and the grounds although they are small. Was told restaurants are walkable about 5-10 minutes but ended up eating onsite. The lobster soup was good but expensive. Hot tub was nice. Breakfast buffet was good- waffles, meat, cheese, oatmeal etc. staff were helpful and accommodating.
I had a fantastic stay here, the staff were friendly and helpful and the morning breakfast was good with lots of options. The restaurant offers lots of options and the fly bus drops you off right outside, same with tour pick ups with Reykjavík Excursions, I would stay here again!
