We could smell a very strong fishy smell in the corridor before we even opened our apartment door. When we walked into the room it made us gag it was so bad. We opened all windows and tried to contact the owners but they did not respond until the following day after we had left for the airport home. They tried to say it was the geothermal water even though we had not run water and the smell was not the light Sulphur smell you can get when you run a tap in Iceland. I think they were trying to insult our intelligence. It was the dreadful fishy smell you get from toilet drains and it was coming up out of the shower drain. I told them I would be wanting a full refund and they have refused. They said, This case has been discussed by management and we hereby decline your refund request. Not sure what they have exactly discussed as they have not engaged with me as they probably think we will never stop there again and are going to write them a BAD review so why bother giving us a refund. My money was paid to Expedia so please do not pay them for our stay in this disgusting smelly apartment. Room 101. I gave them the opportunity to come smell it for themselves whilst we were in the room and they did not respond. Expedia can not allow property owners to do this and as they have refused me a full refund I expect Expedia to take this up with them and refund my account in full.
