The bathroom shower curtains were terribly mouldy. The food was poor - fish undercooked and batter overcooked. Waitress very pleasant however. Bed very comfortable.
A great place for an overnight stay whilst exploring the elan valley. Clean and comfortable bed plenty of hot water. A lovely evening meal at a good price. Being a lovely sunny weekend the pub was busy and there was a little noise outside but nothing that stopped you sleeping
Room was very dirty only stayed the one night not the 2 that was paid for. Ordered food in the evening only chicken wings they were black and smelt terrible I did not touch them. Wasn’t asked how the food was or anything. Overall very disappointing
A convenient location to visit Rhyader and the kite feeding.
Staff and service were very good but it would have been useful to include parking information in the preliminary information as there is no parking on site. The room and facilities were adequate, good value, but a bit of redecoration in the shower room is needed. The road was very noisy with heavy lorries from late at night and early morning.

Here for filming. Extremely dissatisfied. The floor was so noisy it dipped at loades of points making you feel like you was going to fall through the floor and with a 5 month old that’s not a great feelings. First morning of going to work the hot water wasn’t working so had to wash with freezing cold water. Complained and was promised for it to be working. Fair play I came home after working and the heating and water was piping hot. So waited until the morning to shower again before working. To my dis belief it was freezing cold yet again. No one around to complain to this time so had to go to work having washed my hair in freezing cold water. In desperate need of a makeover or I’m not used to these type of places. It was big and enough random beds to sleep atleast 5 people. Front door was extremely stiff. Food downstairs only served at random times (hard to get used to if coming from London) and the whole town closes down at 9pm. Look outside at 9.30pm and it’s like a ghost town.
The room was clean and tidy. But i didnt get any peace what so ever as the noise from the pub downstairs was horrendous. Other guests shouting, singing and banging doors until the early hours. Hallway lights shinning through into bedroom on and off all night. It was a nightmare and as a lone female traveller i was quite disturbed and upset.
Stayed 1 night last week. Given a "disabled" room which was set up for 2 adults and a teenager. Very, very basic. Looked like the ceiling was held together by 5 screws!
The ceiling was moving as those above walked around.
No toilet rolls, dirty mug and half full glass of water waiting for us. Nice.Felt like we were trying to sleep in a shed placed on the carpark.
Very noisy over night as close to the road. Even noisier in the morning when everyone sorts out the empties in the bins etc. We all had a crap nights sleep.
We did go for breakfast in associated cafe called Ty Morgan next morning (very closeby) and that was superb. Quality food well cooked and delicious coffee.
We had a meal in the restaurant. The restaurant itself was fine and comfortable/smart. Food was ok but nowt to rush back for. Mixed grill was all well done even when steak was asked to be medium rare. Not even close. Chicken curry was very oily. Others in our group had pie which was good.
Covid-wise they have implemented a kind of one way system which some used, some didn't. All drinks were good and staff pleasant and helpful.
The room was really really basic. One child couldn’t sleep in the second bedroom as there was a wall cupboard that the door was caved in. We didn’t use the lounge as the sittees were not too pleasant. The carpets didn’t see too clean and the place just needs a complete refurb. Only there for one night luckily. The pub however was lovely and clean and food and staff were excellent!!
