First ski getaway of the season
The location is great to getting around. Getting to the place had lots of potholes. The cabin is cozy and comfortable with some quirks, including light switches around corners, a wood fireplace with no instruments and comes very cold. Feedback: the fireplace glass window came out and had to be put back in twice. The hot tube started to smell quickly and on the last day I had to shower immediately afterwards due to the smell. Also tried to extend the stay for late check out but didn’t hear back.

Cool little cottage in the woods.
We had a wonderful stay at the alder wood. It met all of our needs. The oven knob is backwards, so when cooking turn it to the opposite direction and the oven will actually heat up. Thanks for the great stay.

Mountain cabin
This is a small cabin on Mt Hood. It was clean and well stocked. It is very simple. The bed was comfortable. We had a difficult time figuring out how to get the heat on and there wasn't any instructions. There is a wood stove but there was not any kindling, only large pieces of wood. There was lighter fluid next to the wood but we decided that seemed unsafe. The hot tub was old and smelled a little funky but it was hot and we enjoyed it. The cabin itself looks out onto a pretty forest. The houses around the cabin are very poorly cared for and had lots of trash around. It was nice we could bring our dogs.

Cozy Cabin
We had a wonderful time at this cozy cabin. It was surprisingly spacious, conveniently close to the mountain for snow boarding, and we could gaze up at the moon from the hot tub. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Fun family trip
Me and my husband are cabin jumpers and we found the beauty of this place is at the top of our list. The location was perfect. You do have neighbors but the way the house is situated no one can see you. The house itself is gorgeous. The wood throughout the house is so cozy and the wood burning stove worked like a charm. It rained the whole 3 nights we were there but we didn’t mind at all. The bed was comfortable. Large selection of movies. We didn’t take advantage of the hot tub but it’s a great amenity to have for people into hot tubs. There are hiking trails everywhere. A river is not to far through the forest behind the house. Just a great little spot to enjoy yourself and escape from the world! We will be back for sure!

Great for recreationalists
My husband and I stayed here as part of our hiking honeymoon trip and had a good time. The listing was accurate and had what we needed in the kitchen. The hot tub was great after long hiking days. The cabin is in a perfect location for day hikes to Mount Hood, Columbia River, Portland, and high desert. Foot paths around the rental lead through the woods to the river. We look forward to coming back!

Cozy rustic
Spent our anniversary weekend here and brought our dog with us. Quiet but with plenty to do. There is a small trail behind the place that our dog loved to explore. The cabin was so cozy. Great for naps after hikes and the sitting room is perfect for late night conversation and music on the record player. We Will be back.

Zig Zag Cabin
Lovely cabin in a quiet little neighborhood off 26. Easy drive up to skiiing, etc. and close to the area's markets and restaurants.Comfortable, tidy, well appointed cabin. Would gladly stay again. Few suggestions: new mattress in the back bedroom (SUPER squeaky), couple plastic boot trays at the front door, and directions for the hot tub & wood burning stove.

Fantastic, Dog-friendly, Cozy Cabin
This cabin is a dream come true. Stayed here with a few friends for a mountain spring break. It had everything we wanted and needed. Rustic and cozy, working heaters which proved incredibly useful for the snowy weather. There were plenty of extra blankets and the hot tub was great and clean! (Only thing was that the hot tub was unlocked and had some Tupperware and other items around it when we arrived. So, maybe some neighbors have been using it on the sly OR it wasn't fully closed up from the last guests. This however, was not a big issue.) The kitchen was stocked well with utensils and pots/pans and the hot water was fast and reliable which made cooking here a breeze. 10/10 recommend and we will probably be back next year. 🗻

Weekend Getaway
This place is well cared for and very clean. Our struggle were the following: 1) No outdoor cooking options (BBQ) 2) Located in a neighborhood like environment 3) Master bed is very uncomfortable 4) Hot tub was way over chlorinated, we had to add water and wait a day to use 5) Someone actually took a wheel cover from our truck while there. It was there when we unloaded and gone the next morning. 6) they have several old records which we were pretty excited about, but the stereo doesn't work properly. Its stuck on loud, and can't be adjusted. We attempted to let it play, but after a song it will shut down and you have to start over again. 7) The check out time of 10am isn't great... You are forced to get up early on the last day of vacation to get everything cleaned up, put back together, loaded and out by 10 am. Had I known about no outdoor cooking and the 10 am check out I would have not book. That's on me, for not checking. All in all we would not book this location again.

It's a cabin...in the woods.
Neighbors are not friendly. Upkeep on property was not done for some time. No exterior lights to access hotub with lots of tripping hazards. No flexibility with checkin. Long list of requirements that are usually taken care of by a maid or grounds keeper. No heat to speak of from the floor heaters. No central heat/air but at least the wood burning stove had no matches/kindling and hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The shower was adequate. Don't expect the TV to work. The guest book is full of complaints and anecdotes of guests trying to fix hazards for the property owner. There are two property rental apps associated with this cabin and both were unresponsive. The Master bedroom bed is also horrible and super creaky-so don't plan on sleeping too soudly. Use this place as a one-nigher or a crash pad. Not a destination spot.

Quite and Homey Stay but Needs Attention to Detail
This was my first time staying at the property in Rhododendron. Overall, I enjoyed my stay as the cabin is in a secluded and quiet area, surrounded by old growth trees. The record player was a nice touch along with a nice selection of old books to peruse and plenty of space in the cabin. There are a few details though that left me a bit tentative about returning and feeling a little unprepared or misled about things. The directions for arrival to the cabin were not correct as the main road signs off Highway 26 did not correspond with the written instructions. Another turn in the tight roads of the neighborhood was the wrong direction too. I eventually found my way, but these directions need to be updated asap for future guests. While any property photos of a place are taken to make things look as fresh and spiffy as possible, the overall property looked quite different from the photos. Tree and foliage growth have overtaken much of the surroundings of the cabin. It's fine but I was a bit surprised at how different things looked. The outdoor deck and hot tub area unfortunately did not look appealing at all. They were both heavily covered with leaves and other debris and looked as if they had not been swept off in weeks. I would also recommend having a booklet inside for the cabin with all relevant instructions and such for everything inside along with pre-arrival instructions that make known what things are available and what are not. While there is a full kitchen available, there are minimal things like cooking spices and such if you are going to be making your meals, so that would have been nice to know prior to arrival and coming prepared. And then other instructions like use of the washer/dryer and if detergent and sheets are provided or the guest needs to bring their own. After my first night at the cabin, it felt like there was a lot of cold air seeping in, to which I discovered several of the windows had not been latched properly and were leaking significantly due to not being shut all the way. Checkout instructions were ok but they again mentioned starting a load of towels or sheets in the washer. But, there was no detergent provided and the two cabinets next to the washer and dryer were both locked. So, it felt a little confusing as to what I needed to do. Not huge things in the end, but I think some attention to arrival, picture, and overall details and instructions would do well in the future!

It was an amazing little cabin with the cutest hidden treasures!
The location of the cabin was hard to find, but once in their we had privacy and a wonderful cabin getaway to ourselves. Some things that stood out to us the most was the adorable record player and metal, old school heater like the ones you see in fairy books! Definitely coming back the next chance we get. :)
