Idlewood Hive, the Heart of Richmond

The Idlewood Hive is a private home, situated in a quiet neighborhood, just 6 minutes from downtown Richmond. Enjoy the laid back quiet feel, while being close enough to fully enjoy downtown. Large country decks, 8 foot custom locally made Farm Table, and large kitchen filled with great amenities make it perfect for families, friends, and work retreats. Home sleeps 16 people comfortably.

You and your guests will drive to the rear of the house where you will have private parking. The rear door is keyless entry and Leslie, or our house host Ashley, will provide the code prior to your check in. As you enter into our beautiful newly built home, you walk into the kitchen which is the heart of the home. The house is light filled and brand new. There is a private room with a Queen bed on the main floor with a full bath across the hall. The living room is towards the front of the house with a pull out sofa to accommodate a full bed. The front porch is the perfect spot to take your coffee and the start the morning off right. Heading upstairs there is a private room with a Queen bed and right across is a room with full over full bunk beds that sleeps four total. Heading down the hall there is a shared bathroom for those two rooms. Further down you will enter a huge master bedroom. The master offers two twin over twin bunk beds and 1 twin over full bunk bed. Total this room sleeps is 7 with an en suite bathroom. Don't over look the balcony from this room. The door leads out to a beautiful balcony where you enjoy our luxury seating while viewing the Richmond city sky line.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private balcony or patio. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a Smart television is provided for your entertainment. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.

Christmas trip
We went to Richmond as a meeting to meet all the family. The picture of the house online are brand new and the house has seen a lot of wear and tear. We had to ask for a plumber to come fix a bathroom toilet. We asked about the weather stripping on a door and mold on a shower curtain to be replaced. We got an Amazon package, and I guess the property owner assumed we should do this work. The property owner was responsive.We paid an extra person charge yet we had to wait sometimes hours to get hot water. Hot water would run out.The location is ok, great access to downtown.The front door to the house had a very bad door handle.You should have more than one television in a house, especially when you rent to 10-15 people.I wouldn’t recommend the house with these current issues and I would ask the homeowner to remedy these issues.

We had 3 generations under one roof for the VCU graduation. This home was close to campus, stores and restaurants. We had other family join us at the house to hang out together. The kitchen was a perfect spot for us all, the 2nd floor porch was great for views of the city. We had a great time staying there while we were in Richmond.

Fun filled weekend in RVA
This was an amazing property and perfect for our trip. We had a group of 10 guys in town for my brother’s bachelor party/golf trip. It was in a great location close to The Fan where we spent most of our time while not on the golf course. Would definitely book again.

We were so glad to find this spot, and it was a great fit for our group of 13 and a very easy process! Location was excellent for us, Leslie gave great parking directions, and we were even able to get in early. Beds were comfy and there were plenty of towels, blankets, and pillows to go around. Lovely property with a good amount of space and comfortable beds. We had everything we needed. Kitchen was very clean, spacious with super modern appliances. Location was great with lovely walk to James River view through Hollywood Cemetery. We also walked to Maymont Park Japanese/Italian gardens. We would visit again.

The home was plenty large for our family who met in Virginia from various states. The parking area was very convenient and allowed for multiple vehicles. Although we brought all of our bathroom supplies- I thought it was great that there was shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided in all bathrooms. The paper products and trash bags are a bonus as well because that isn’t always offered. We played uno and enjoyed the large table. Thank you!

Great service great location.
The property is in a safe neighborhood not too far from 95 and there was off street parking for all three of our cars to fit easily. Everything you could ever need is stocked- sheets towels toilet paper soap etc. the property manager is one of the best I’ve ever worked with- responded to me very quickly every time I reached out. She also handled an issue around the garbage disposal being broken very quickly and generously. Highly recommend!

Perfect for a large family.
It was so nice having the 3 bathrooms especially when there are kids and teenagers. The bunk bed room was a great hit.. my grandchildren were all able to stay in that room and had a blast. The back porch was nice to sit on in the evenings.
