The hotel was very clean , friendly staff. The restaurant on roof was convenient and had a nice view over the city and lake. The food was delicious ate there 2 times. Location of hotel has easy access to walk around city

Veldig koselig hotell. Veldig god frokost meg stor utvalg. 40 minutter fra Lillehammer. Parkering foran hotellet er veldig dyrt men det finnes parkering på 150 meter avstand som koster 42 kr per døgn.

will not recommend this for family
If you are a family do not go to this hotel because the family rooms are very bad special the bathroom they are so small. The extra sofa-bed is really poor to sleep on if you are adult. The receptionist we had was not very friendly, it seem that when you book a standard room that is not good enough for her. The children can't use the swimming-pool before after 8pm because the service alcohol at the swimming- pool so this hotel do not really want family to stay.

Spa closed TV not working!!
Spa closed with the hot tub not working anyway.. my main reason for booking the hotel after a long trek. The other reason was the watch the match but the sports channel wasn’t working. Ok hotel with cinema in the building but unfortunately for me my reasons for booking were out of order. Kind of ruins it for me.. also, I was hungry but the food was no where the standard one would expect for the price..!? Hotel ok but service/staff hopeless as all too often in smaller towns.. seems they don’t want the customer to have a nice stay possibly even resent them being there, so why work in such a hotel..!?

Looking for a hotel in Gjovik?
Strand Hotel is quite new and you can tell as soon as you enter the reception. The rooms are of high quality and comfort, with a great view of the city. Having tried different hotels in this city, Strand Hotel is by far the best.

The spa is very good but you need to pay extra 115NOK to get an access. The hotel's lobby and other common areas are excellent. However, the rooms are old, bad insulation (too much noise from the main street) and bad lighting in the rooms.

The toilet was dirty and in the first day was no toilet brush in the toilet. Even after two times that they did my room, the toilet was still dirty. Other than, everything is great in this hotel. I particularly enjoy the breakfasts and beds.

Pleasant hotel near the lake.
Pleasant hotel near where the stream enters the lake. Easy check-in/check out experience. Clean, but not special room. Good breakfast with a wide selection of vegetables, eggs, meats and cheeses.
