The hotel had a general vibe of a scene out of cops. Side entrance door was unlocked. Kick in marks on the doors.

The room was clean when we got there. We stayed there for 4 nights and house keeping didn't come in once. I am fine with only changing the towels and sheets every 3 days, but they weren't even changed the 4th day. I had to take out the trash myself. When I went to enquire about the lack of house keeping I was told that I was supposed to call the front desk before 9 each morning and request it. I ask how I was to know to do this and they said it was posted in the room. I went back and check my room but couldn't find any such posting. Also the guest Laundry was not very clean. The hotel was very convenient to the places we went hiking.

It was convenient to Hollins University and Interstate 81. We had a "non-smoking" room but the smell of smoke was throughout the facility. Weve been home two hours and can still smell the smoke in our clothing. Although we could tell there has been painting and reconditioning of the facility, the bathroom was worn, the toilet rocked back and forth, and the coating on the old tub was wearing off.

An average roadside hotel
This is a regular side road hotel, rooms were clean, double beds are really small (certainly not a queen size, probably even smaller than a full size), and if you get one of the rooms that face the parking lot you will get constant Highway noise all night long. Free breakfast was too simple, coffee was basically water.

I wanted to give this pace the benefit of the doubt but it was just bad. A remodeled older hotel that really didn’t meet the mark. You can only do so much by updating the furniture. The towels near the bathroom sink were stained with I don’t know what, but it was obvious they hadn’t been changed since the previous guest. The security bar in the door was broken off. I informed the staff and they did off to move my room, which I declined, but they did not replace the towels. The “breakfast” was pitiful and the dining area is too small for more than 10 guests. For the price I paid I was severely disappointed and I won’t be going back. The selection was limited to sausage and eggs, one small waffle maker and a bunch of rotten bananas. The beds were comfortable thought, which was a good thing. I would not recommend this place if you can avoid it. Paying a little more would have given me a better experience for the weekend!!

The property looked abandoned when I first pulled up and it made me nervous. The hotel is definitely old and not very updated, but it turned out to be fine. It was clean and had a decent breakfast, but nothing to rave about. The A/C unit in the room made so many strange noises, it kept waking me up, so not very restful overall.
