Private farmhouse on 5+ acres—comfortable, cozy and charming!

Welcome to The Farm! This is a fully restored 4-bedroom farmhouse in a park-like setting.

With 3 queen beds, 1 bunk bed, and 1 twin bed, this house sleeps up to 9 but is still cozy enough for two. The main level has a large kitchen-dining area overlooking the backyard and the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are large antique windows throughout the house with beautiful light and views of the yard and farm from every window. While you will see plenty of deer, you won't see any neighbors!

As you come in the back door, you will enter the large mud room, with plenty of space to drop off your things off and get situated. The kitchen/dining room and the powder room are both right off the mud room, so you have easy access to and from the kitchen if you are grilling outside or need to unload the car.

In the kitchen you'll find a full size refrigerator, range, dishwasher, buther block countertops and plenty of cabinet and counter space, including a coffee bar with a coffee grinder for that morning brew. The solid dining room table seats 6 comfortably and is also a great place to set up your laptop. You'll have beautiful views through the bay window into the backyard as well as views of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Going through the mud room, you will enter the den where there is a glass-top desk where you can also set up a laptop. The main bedroom is off this den. This main bedroom has a queen bed and its own bathroom with a full size shower.

Through the den, you will go into the living room where you can enjoy watching shows on the oversized couch. Through the living room and up the stairs are the other 3 bedrooms and bathroom. The 2nd and 3rd bedroom both have queen beds, ceiling fans and plenty of dresser space. The 4th bedroom (the triple bunk room) actually comes off of the 3rd bedroom, as was a common layout in houses of this era (used to be a bedroom/nursery).

Out back, there is abundant outdoor space with picnic tables, a propane grill, wood firepit and hot tub.

At the farm, you can relax in the evenings watching TV, soaking in the hot tub, watching the sun set over the back yard and roasting s’mores by the fire. There are board games & cards for the family to enjoy. The living room TV has a Nintendo Classic Edition with 30 games from the 80s and 90s. Relive the games from your childhood!

Whether you're inside the farmhouse or out back, you will enjoy the privacy of being in the woods. One thing that is unique about this property is that although the farmhouse is private and secluded, DoorDash still delivers here and Uber/Lyft will pickup and drop-off. Downtown Roanoke is just 10 minutes from your door and the Wal-Mart Supercenter is just 5 minutes away. It's remarkable how there's so much space, so close to Roanoke, yet so private. From the outdoor area, you cannot see any other houses and they cannot see (or hear) you either.

The hosts provide all toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, laundry detergent, shampoo, body wash, propane and firewood. The hot tub receives regular professional maintenance. There is a full size washer & dryer and high speed WiFi throughout the house.

We love dogs and your pets are welcome, but we all need to be responsible. Pets have an additional cleaning fee due to the size of the house and the extra cleaning needed. Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds and must be crated if left inside unattended. Pet fee covers cleaning, but not damage. There is a small fenced in yard for dogs to “do their business.” The rest of the property is large and unfenced so be please careful with dogs that will chase wildlife or have a tendency to run off.

This 100+ year old house and property was fully restored by the current owners and has been hosting guests since 2022. Although new to the VRBO platform, the owners and this property are not new to hosting. Please note that the barn is accessed via a separate driveway and is not part of the stay. Owner may access the barn periodically during your stay. Due to the size of the property and need for ongoing outdoor maintenance there may be land and other exterior maintenance activities (mowing, driveway raking, clearing of brush, hot tub maintenance, trash pickup, etc.) during your time at the farm. This will only occur during normal daytime hours to minimize any impact on you. Due to the secluded nature of the property, there is a security camera outside at the back door and at the barn. We value your privacy, so none of the cameras view the outside recreation area (firepit, spa, picnic tables, porch swing). Per VRBO policy, there are no interior cameras.

Perfect Wedding weekend home
Peter was so amazing throughout the booking process and stay! He was very accommodating and communicated with us in a timely manner. He house was so cozy, we felt like home despite all the wedding madness that went on. The land is just as beautiful as inside the house and my only regret is not booking our stay longer. Coming back to the property was definitely a saving grace as it was a safe place for my husband and I to have a moment to ourselves. This is now our go to place in Roanoke for not only my husband and I, but our families and friends that stopped by and fell in love as well.

Stay at the Farm
The property is great! Really enjoyed being able to have the dogs with us and there is plenty of room to take them for a walk on the property. The house is really charming with very nice updates. The kitchen is well appointed and very spacious. Communication with the owner/host leading up to check- in was fantastic. Look forward to returning someday and enjoying more of the area.

Perfectly secluded, beautiful & clean!
Our stay was amazing! We had a great time, the house, beds, and bathrooms were very clean. The only exception to this was the coffee pot was not cleaned out, but not nasty yet (guessing it was forgotten by a renter right before us?). Kitchen was fully stocked with most everything needed for cooking. The main beds were very comfortable! The bunk beds were not too bad for an adult, but just fine for kids. The house is an absolutely gorgeous farmhouse with a huge mudroom, and huge kitchen/ dining area. The only thing I could reccomend would be some sort of sheer curtains at least, in the bedrooms or the bathrooms maybe? The seclusion of this house is unbelievable since the highway is connected to the (long) driveway, but we never experienced any annoying sounds of cars passing! The Blue Ridge Parkway is super close which was really nice too. The hot tub at the property was kept very clean and was a very relaxing addition to our stay! My whole family agreed, we would definitely stay here again! If your looking for a private, country/ mountain farmhouse getaway, thats still close enough to go out for dinner or shopping, this is it!

Beautiful Property
We were thrilled with our weekend at this property. The outdoor space was well kept and perfect for entertaining and relaxing. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit with smores, and beautiful sightlines as the fall colors started to reveal themselves. The inside was very clean and well appointed. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the large kitchen and living room. Bedrooms and bathrooms provided everything we needed. We would love to stay here again and will definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

Lovely Respite Close to Town
We had a really stay at The Farm. The house is bigger than it looks and with 2 floors there was plenty of shared and private space. We mostly cooked at the house (loved the grill!) after attending a convention conveniently only 5 minutes from the house. The yard was really lovely and enjoyed the quiet and the spotting of deers. Highly recommend!!

A Blue Ridge Beauty
As someone who lived in Roanoke, I can tell you there is no better listing for a family vacation. The property is beautiful and ‘peaceful’ just doesn’t do it justice. With the Blue Ridge boundary located on the back of the property, it’s made for an adventures spirit. The nearest entry/exit point to access the parkway for a beautifully scenic drive is less than a 1/4 mile away and everything else you could want to do or have access to in-town is a simple 15-20 minute drive. With downtown being even closer. Truly the whole experience from renting to our stay was great. Wonderful communication with the owners/property managers and home that is so well stocked I couldn’t think of anything else we truly would’ve needed. We will absolutely be back and hope to continue renting this property for our family visits for years to come!

AMAZING!
This was one of the best places we've ever stayed! The host Peter was very accommodating and was so helpful getting us in last minute after we had to leave a terrible property that we had also booked through VRBO. The house is on about 5 acres of quiet, private land with a family of deer that regularly visited us in the mornings to graze. The house is great! Very comfortable beds and fully stocked for families including a beautiful renovated kitchen, outdoor grill and a fantastic hot tub. The kids had a blast exploring the property and watching the wildlife. Will definitely be staying here again the next time we need a place in Roanoke.

AMAZING TIME!!!
The minute we drove up to this beautiful property and house we felt right at home!! We open the door to this gorgeous house and Peter and his wife had me a birthday card balloon and candy. Every time I messaged Peter he would get back to me very quickly and was a very respectful person. The only regret I had was we couldn’t stay longer! Thank you again Peter we will be back!!!

Family time on the farm.
From the moment you walk into the house, you feel like it's gonna be a special time. Everyone of our guests and my immediate family was charmed by the hardwood floors. The attention to detail and all of the amenities included with the house. We were meeting for a hard time for our family. We were bringing home my dad who died a few weeks ago. We had family coming from all across the united states and we needed a place that we could cut and meet and gather and talk and mostly there are thoughts about my dad's long life. The house provided that whether we were on the front porch In the living room, In the big farm style kitchen with all that light, Or out in the yard enjoying the fire pit.And sitting out watching the stars. The house just gave us peace which is exactly what we neede The host left a wonderful card and a bouquet of flowers. It was the first thing we saw when we walked in.It was a pleasure to sta We will be contacting the host to stay again within the year.
