The cleaning staff were slow to make up the room. As we went to Europe during a heatwave we usually had to go back to the hotel mid-afternoon in order to freshen up. The room was never ready on any of the days we stayed. The floors in the suite also seemed to be dirty most of the time.
On the last night of our stay, there was no hot water. It was around 10:45PM and the receptionist had already gone even though they were supposed to be there till 11PM. We called the after-hours emergency number and spoke to the manager and he said he would call back. No one called back and no one came to look into the issue. We had to sleep without showering.
The nest morning there was still no hot water. We talked to the hotel staff and they tried for about 2 hours to fix the issue. We told them we would go out for lunch and come back to shower before checking out. Before we left they said the issue was fixed. When we got back, the issue was still not fixed. We had no choice to shower in cold water, as we had a train to catch.
As the issue was never resolved and caused such an inconvenience, we asked the staff if they could refund us, at minimum, the last night. The staff talked to the manager and told us to submit a claim through Expedia. It's been over a month since the claim was open and the hotel seems to be ignoring Expedia's request to process the refund, which is pretty unacceptable in our opinion.
