This was, unfortunately, the only hotel stay of our trip (stayed at 9 different locations total) that we didn’t like!
Positives: The main positive feature was that the owner is very nice and friendly. The decor is somewhat tacky, but could appeal to some as it is unique. The location was great! It’s right by “Largo do Torre Argentina”.
In-room Amenities: The hotel really tries to win you over with in-room amenities, but the room is very cluttered and you wouldn’t use most of these add-ons. For instance, there is a hot dog cooker, regular toaster, and other kitchen gadgets, but they refused to provide a clothing iron because of safety concerns? There are many bigger fire hazards in the room as is that were less useful.
Breakfast: The fridge and shelves are stocked with food, but we didn’t try any as they were all highly processed and we thought it was strange to eat refrigerated foods previous guests had access to.
Cleanliness: The room did not feel clean, especially the shower. The jacuzzi shower was covered in black mold in all corners. Also, all the surplus decor and add ons made the room feel dusty. It’d be impossible to wipe everything down between guests.
“Deluxe” Bedding: My biggest complaint was the bed/bedding. The mattress was very stiff/uncomfortable, and the bedding felt so cheap! It looked like one-time use hospital bedding. Also, whatever detergent they use to wash it was overly fragrant.
Again, we stayed at 9 hotels during our trip, and this was the o
