Please read before you book!!DO NOT BOOK HERE
First the bad: you have to firsr find the Golden Tulip hotel to check un which is about 1/2 mile away ( if you like paying extra for taxi, do that)you are not informed of this until AFTER you book the room.2nd-you have to find this hotel inside another hotel and find that carry your luggage up 3 sets of stairs because the elevator does not stop on floor 1 ( goes from 0 to 2). No air conditioning! No reception area as shown in pictures. You need a code to get in and then carry a large room key with you.The only communication is through Whats App and they do not respond. We booked a 2-day stay before our cruise and 2day after our cruise. We tried to cancel the 2 day stay that was after and they refused to refund our money so we had to stay there again:(

Don't even bite
Address when I booked the room was different from actual location. check in was also in a different location form the 2 hotel addresses given. AC not working. Staff pretty much couldn't care less about customer service (no luggage help transporting from one hotel building to the next, when AC didn't work, all they could say was "sorry" and open the window). Never again.

Do not stay here.
Something I did not realize prior to my booking was that the reception of the hotel is actually a 10- minute walk away from the actual hotel/ hotel rooms. I received an email from the hotel 2 days prior to my day of check in, but the email was in Italian so I could not read it. Please be aware of this inconvenience as you will have to first arrive to a different location to check in, then walk over with all your luggage over cobblestones/ busy streets/ intersections to reach the actual hotel. This was burdensome as on the day of our departure, I asked the hotel reception to call us a taxi to pick us up from the front of the hotel. However, they said they would only call the taxi for us in front of reception. When asked why they couldn't just send the taxi to the front of the hotel (to avoid walking with all our large luggage), the staff just said because it is the way it is. Also, there is no AC in the building, but an option for a fan which is not strong. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone with any large luggage/ traveling with fam/ kids. Could be ok if you are young and alone or traveling light.

Hotel good for a city break.
I went for a city break for a couple of days. Good hotel to use if you just want somewhere to sleep. It was clean. However, the reception is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and the room was warm, there is air con but the best at working. Other than this it was ok and very secure - the night guard checked where we were going and then we had to enter a code into the hotel. The service at the reception was good and the receptionist was very helpful in directing us where to go and how to contact someone if we needed anything. Close to Roma termini and about. 15 min walk to Trevi Fountain or Colosseum. Metro for Vatican City is just at the end of the road so very convenient.

The first point of contact in the hotel did not speak English at all. The only receptionist on-site was for one of the few hotels housed in the building and was only willing to help those booked in "their" hotel. We had to walk a few blocks and find the main hotel with receptionist who thankfully spoke English - to pick up the key to Hotel Regina Giovanna. Very inconvenient experience for a visitor to Italy. This should be mentioned on the website so that people do not feel "cheated".

The description for this hotel is slightly misleading as checkin for this hotel is actually half a mile away at a completely different hotel, something we only got told 1 day prior to our arrival. Luckily it was on the way from Termini station but still, caught us out a little bit. We also had to ask twice to get a cot to the room, which did eventually make it just before the first night however she (the small one) couldn’t nap on arrival as she didn’t have a bed. The ‘apartments’ themselves are clean, spacious and in a good location with communal fridge and microwave, which were good for the small one.

The hotel is ideal for someone like me who doesn’t spend much time in their room. It has all the amenities and is kept extremely clean. It is located within walking distance of all the main attractions of Rome and is surrounded by good restaurants and cafes.

To be avoided at all cost!
The room was basically a run down hole with plumbig problems, almost no natural light, looking into a shaft and yet super noisy. The worst thing was the unbearable nauseating smell from the sewer. Most of the things from the booking description were not true (size, equipment, overall condition etc.). I am sure the hotel has rooms that match the decription and matching photos, but this was certainly not it. The hotel has rooms scattered in different sections and floors of a residential building and (as noted) there is no reception.
