Excellent location, close to amenities.
Apart from the climb up the 8 flights of stairs this was an excellent place to stay at an excellent price. The room looks as it does in the picture; you get 2 double beds, air con, intermittent wifi, ensuite bathroom, a fridge and coffee making facilities (bring your own kettle, tea and coffee if you don't like it strong and black or prefer tea). The building is a little tricky to find but its just near footlocker and there is a brass plate to the right of the door with the name on.

Hotel advertises breakfast, but no breakfast :(
We arrived in Rome, and once we got to the location of the hotel, we called the number and someone met us there pretty quickly. When we checked in we were told there was no breakfast, which we had expected because I did my hotel search with parameters that included breakfast in the search. I signed a paper saying there was breakfast, but the person who checked us in to our room informed us that there had never been breakfast. WIFI cut out the last night I was there. Not sure if it was out of spite because the guy over heard us complaining or if internet was just down, but both my girlfriend's phone and mine was not able to connect.

Charming
Old apartment building in heart of town but only if you have the stamina for five floors to walk up to . Compensated by the charming decor and the large lovely terrace our rooms opened up to . Ask for the triple share room so you get two adjoining rooms

Great location, amazing roof terrace, 5 floors up
this place is terrific if you don't mind stairs, as others have said before, it's a looong walk up 5 floors, especially after a day out walking in Rome. however, the roof terraces make it worth it, your own little oasis high above the busy street. the hotel is about 30 min walk from Roma Termini, and about the same to the Vatican and Colloseum, 5 minutes from the Spanish steps. loads of great little restaurants around the area.

Noisy road, poor security, forbidding stairs
Only saw 1 employee when I signed in. Never allowed in the main floor of hotel; always closed, Non working coffee maker, none working AC never had any breakfast things replaced after 1st day's two dry cakes. Entrance to suite had cleaning equipment in the hallway. the two security doors : main one from the street and the main one to stair access both broken and any one could come in. Linens although very clean where threadbare. Soap and shampoo of the poorest quality. Refrigerator on floor to use as a table. Armoire rickety unable to open both doors. Writing table rickety and unable to use due to nonworking coffee maker and basket for non existing cont.bkfst. No trash can in room only a miniscule 1 liter size bathroom. Most of time there not enough wats to make lights work.

Great location. Two main issues: Old mattress and there is no elevator. If you walk one block, you can find a better hotel for $20 more

A great place with a lot of character
This is an excellent base for a trip to Rome. Our pair of rooms opened on to a private terrace, great for relaxing in the morning before going sightseeing. The hotel has just a few rooms in total, on the top (5th) floor of a house on Via del Corso, close to the Piazza del Populi at the northern end. The stairs (no lift) are not for the infirm but are not a problem otherwise. The rooms are pretty with a lot of character. The person in charge was very friendly and helpful. We'd certainly like to stay there again. The price was very reasonable for Rome shortly after Easter.

A pleasing stay
The hotel room is basic but has a few nice touches, such as a coffee machine, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and daily maid service. The only downside is the number of stairs you have to go up, 10 flights which equals to 102 steps. There is no lift as the building is in a historic district. The location is fantastic and is in the middle of most of the historical sites, with some great clothing shops on your doorstep. Nice balcony too.

Location is very central and easy to find, room very clean and very charming. Lots of stairs, so not very ideal for anyone physically disabled or elderly. I would definitely stay again here.

Perfect location! Beautiful room - lots of stairs!
Loved our stay. Beautiful room with a beautiful terrace. Staff were helpful and the location is fantastic!!! Only downside is that there are lots of stairs to get to room, with luggage it's a little inconvenient but the room is worth it :)

Excellent location
Location is phenomenal. Walking distance to everything ! Right near the tridente at Piazza del Popolo,on Via del Corso. It wasn't an issue for us but for some lack of elevator to go up 5 floors of steps might be problematic. The residence is also not to easy to find, the rooms are in a building with other private dwellings and a clothing shop on main floor. There is no reception. Once you arrive you need to call them and someone will be sent right away.

Good accomodation, Bad business setup
A quick heads up - no desk at the accom. and there is only someone there to let you in between 10am - 2.30pm. We arrived outside of these hours, hit the buzzer at the door - no response. The phone number provided by Wotif is different to the phone number on the door - both are out of service and absolutely useless. The staff at the shop next door are arrogant and unhelpful. So your only hope arriving outside unmanned hours is to stand there and keep hitting the buzzer until somebody picks up. We stood outside for 40 minutes. The staff member that arrived from their other Hotel (15 min walk away) was semi-apologetic and set us up with the room and it went smoothly after that and we were a lot happier after getting inside. Pros - Great location (main shopping district, 10 min walk from Metro/Spanish Steps), lovely balcony, air con. Cons - 10 flights of stairs, no working phone numbers, shower couldn't maintain temperature.

August stay for 1 night
Hotel staff very helpful (they out of their way to help twice), however no reception area at hotel so had to make international call upon arrival despite agreeing an arrival time in advance. Also, located on floor 5, with no lift. Other than that, amazing stay! Absolutely beautiful room and decor (I cant comment enough on the decor), useful coffee machine in the room, and good size room and bathroom. Great location too.

Good spot great location - lots of stairs
The place was clean, if you asked they would help but had to come over from the main location. The place was actually fairly large as well with our own private terrace. The downfall was it is about 10 flights of stairs with no elevator.

Ideal location for Rome
What a great location for a weekend in Rome, all sights and locations within walking distance, no need for any taxis, Metro etc. Hotel on 5th floor and very quiet even though main street does not sleep! Best thing about the room is the nice air conditioning when you arrive back from a day out. 35°C over the period we were there! All said, hotel was a bit tricky to check-in as you have to wait for someone to arrive with the key (a bit hair raising at midnight!). Once in though, all good. On check-out you just leave your key in the room and leave by 11am. Would stay there again. Thank you.

Walk up to a nice cozy room
OK, so you need to walk up 5 flights, but these hotels do not have elevators as they are in a historic district. They do not allow them. That aside , it should not stop you from staying in an excellent area with a comfortable room.

Had difficulty finding "hotel" because there was no signage. After climbing more than 5 flights of stairs (times 2 because it wraps around there was a small desk at the top with no one there to help. Also, the cleanliness was questionable with the conditions of the stairs alone. Finally, saw the room I was to get and it looked NOTHING like any pictures on Expedia. It was very dark, stark, no pictures or any of the "Rome" look on Expedia. Talked to a "manager" about the situation to no avail. Needless to say, I did NOT stay there.

No staff was available on arrival. Friendly local managed to get hold of them. when they finally arrived was very welcoming. Coffee machine was broken. But apart from that a fantastic authentic characterful quirky hotel with a terrace and lemon trees overlooking piazza. Sheer joy. Would certainly go back.

Good value for the money
I travelled with my mother and my 11-year-old daughter this February 2015. This residence is located close to Piazza del Popolo. It offers large and clean rooms. We were fortunate to get the suite with terrace. There is no elevator, and the residence is located on the 5th and 6th floor of a historic building. There isn't a reception on site, but the staff is available 24hs by phone. They responded promptly to all requests. I would love to go back there. It was a really good deal. We were provided supplies to make our own breakfast in the room (tea, coffee, milk, and Italian muffins). The rooms really offer all the necessary amenities.

Great location
We arrived at 2230, but was disappointed to find no reception support on our arrival. After half an hour of stress, some kind lads from ice cream shop nearby helped us contact the main hotel - which was nowhere near the address we had. The room was up 8 flights of stairs, so not advisable for people with poor mobility. The room was lovely and clean, and had everything we needed. The street was vibrant in the daytime, and great location for exploring Rome.
