We chose this River Palace due to their proximity to Piazza del Popolo a short walk to/from where our tour meeting location which worked out great.
The professional team at River Palace were 1st class starting prior to arrival arranging private airport transfer with Marco, the room which was perfect as it had a cozy TV room adjoining bedroom.
Giorgio communicated with us prior to arriving and then made reservations at an amazing walk to restaurant St Ann’s. There are a lot of other eating options by hotel.
Ambiance of hotel was very Christmas festive and has old Rome feel we were seeking with a cozy bar that opens at 5pm that is perfect for an after dinner nightcap.
Only missing is there is no in room coffee machines and the breakfast service does not open until 7am so if you have early tours you need to go out to get your brew a close by McDonalds or other cafes to bring back to room.
We also did not realize our tours meet so early and had booked breakfast with the room so we did not get to enjoy the wonderful breakfast until last day. The buffet has everything hot and cold including eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, cold meat/cheese plates.
It is a 20 minute walk to Spanish Steps, Trevi and Vatican. (we grabbed a cab that hotel arranged to Vatican “Walks” tour which was very good.
We will definitely return to River Palace on next trip to Rome. Thank you Giorgio and Team!!!
