Riverview Retreat

My husband and I have a wonderful artistically refurbished house on the river with a wrap around deck & open floor plan. The master has its own deck on the water. Private access to water for fishing.. We have 2 kayaks available as well as 3 bikes. There are yard games to use in the fully fenced yard. Great hiking close. There is a fire pit on the main deck. Great restaurants and shopping in Peoria Heights. Everything you need for a great stay. Enjoy a glass of wine on the main deck in the evening or a cup of coffee on the upper deck to watch the sunrise over the water in the morning. Your request to book must include a message with information, especially if you have no reviews. Where are you coming from? Purpose of visit, vacation or visiting friends, relatives. Have you used VRBO before? If there is no message your request will be denied. Please read the house rules and confirm you have read when you message.

Pre Thanksgiving get together
We celebrated with our 100 year old Mom, our 2024 pre Thanksgiving dinner. Doing our stay we also had Molly’s pizza, dinner at Sweetwater restaurant and visited Tanners Orchard We sat in the sun on the deck and watch the sunset, did some fishing, used the hot tub and went for walks. Our stay in a very uniquely decorated house was excellent. Kim, our hostess was always connected to making sure we were comfortable

Amazing Sunrise Views!!
Will absolutely recommend and rent again! Excellent location, views are fantanstic! Excellent communication with owner (they were right across the street continuing their tiny home build...Soo cool) We could not get enough of the back decks! The wind will pick up so make sure u have a jacket :) The decor in this house was amazing. You will see something new each tike you enter a a room Weekend!!

Perfect Getaway
We were looking for a quick end-of-summer getaway for our family and the Riverview Retreat did not disappoint. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 and our dog loved the fenced-in yard. The HyVee with Tesla Superchargers was a quick 20-minute drive and made it easy to charge up the car while picking up essentials. We found plenty of quick trips to local museums and gardens, plus lots of options for dining out. We took the kayaks out on the water which was relatively calm even with recent storms and the lake area was only 5 feet deep as far as we went out so easy for the kids. We also appreciated the completely reasonable cleanup requests from the host -- no need to repaint the house and cook dinner for the next guest here lol. We would definitely return in the future if the opportunity comes up, especially since we didn't get a chance to try the hot tub!

What a Lovely Home!
This house is super cool! Nice quiet area and such a wonderfully appointed house! Beds are super comfortable and the sleeping arrangements worked well with our four children. The hot tub was awesome and my wife and I loved the kayaks - what a workout getting back to the house haha

Unique feels with this riverside cabin
These owners have thought of everything, from snacks tucked in a coffee nook in the upper bedroom area, to every sort of outdoor feature you can enjoy in summer or winter. This was my favorite place to stay that I have ever been to. I felt transported to another culture of river cabin elegance with a unique flare. This is definitely a place to revisit again!

Great safe yard space for our dog- wonderful spacious bedrooms with great bedding- slept so well at night. Loved the coffee station to get us going in the morning and the living room overlooking the River was a great place for us to gather before our family holiday events. Nicely located between Chillicothe and Peoria. Would love to see it in the summer with all the trees in bloom! Love the outdoor porches and balconies outside!

What a wonderful property. The view of the river is fantastic and the sunrise each morning was breathtaking. We loved the art work in the house and had a great time discussing the pieces. It adds a special touch to this rental. The owner was easy to work with and very helpful We hope to return soon and not wait 50 years.

My Favorite Place of all time!
Of all the places I've stayed at on this and that other evil BnB site, (Ha!) this is by far my favorite place as far as furnishings are concerned. Every square inch of this place is filled with original local art. It is majestic! It is astounding! It is truly unique in the best of ways! Being an artist myself, my hats off to the owners for supporting artists! And the deck? Epic!

Wonderful vacation.
We were able to relax all weekend with no worries. The house was extremly nice and had so many interesting items in the house (art, books, status, etc.) The fenced in yard made it very relaxing not having to worried about our dogs runny away or leashing them eat time we let them outside.

great riverside stay
very nice house -- great riverside/lake view and so relaxing; comfortable; well-furnished; hot tub was the best of any place we've stayed; great decorations. my little australian terrier enjoyed her stay too. there is a dog park close by, so she got to play with other dogs. thanks kim and david for a great place, and your help with the door lock (one of these days i will learn all the secret places on my phone).

Perfect Getaway in All Ways
This VRBO getaway exceeded our expectations. It checked off all boxes: comfortable beds/lounging places; plenty of towels/toiletries; lovely rooms to relax and watch TV; interesting books to read; intriguing decor to browse and discuss; a gorgeous river view with a flower garden and pretty potted flowers everywhere, etc., etc. The kitchen and coffee setup provided more than the average VRBO. And if all that is not enough, we also enjoyed many outside decks, lounging swings, kayaking, and relaxing hot tub soaks. The house's setting was quiet, safe. Parking options also provided security. From start to finish, communication with Kim was quick and straightforward. I recommend highly this river retreat and look forward to returning someday.
