The room had a 4:00pm check -in time, And I was promised the room would be ready, so I planned my trip accordingly, I wanted to drop my overnight bag and use the facilities before heading to the event I was attending.
The room was not ready. The front desk manager aqt the front desk said her staff got a late start. This meant I had to wait until getting into the event or finding a restaurant nearby to use the facilities.
Had I known the room would not be ready, I could have left for the event earlier, perhaps missing the nightmare traffic on I-80 coming into Sacramento, and having time to have a meal before, saving me a lot of money in food at the event site.
When I arrived after the event, the lobby was closed and we were being served through a thick glass window, immediately bringing into question the safety of the neighborhood. Several people were in line in front of me, each complaining about the state of their room. One mentioned cigarette burns in the bedspread of a room that was supposed to be smoke free and had been for several years.
My room was OK in terms of cleanliness, although obviously well used, with cracked tile, missing grout, peeling non-slip tape in the bathroom, and a TV that, once I found it was unplugged and turned it on, had damage to the LCD screen. And then there was the shower.
The shower was a handheld, mounted in a holder on the outlet pipe. When turned on, the handheld detached and went flailing about the room
Overall 1 star.
