Amazing hotel if you need to be close to the regional train station, literally 2 min walk. New and very cute place, the service is great, they let us hang out in the lobby even past our check out, as we booked a late train and everything was pretty much closed for Christmas at 1 pm. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful 7 nights at the Cocoon Hotel enjoying the Christmas markets and town centre. The hotel is faultless with attentive staff, comfortable bedrooms, great selection of choice for breakfast and extremely clean everywhere. Very convenient for the airport transfer bus and train station for our trips to Linz, Munich and Innsbruck. Would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Salzburg.

Dear fellow travelers , just checked out of the cocoon Hotel in Salzburg All opinions are subjective and this review it’s only my opinion , however I have been traveling for the past 20 years and have stayed in all sorts of lodging Cocoon hotel sits in a non-descriptive building with not much personality It attempts to pass as a “ hipster sort of space “ but really it is more of a high end “ youth hostel” THE GOOD , It is ideally located in a vibrant street across from the train station and within walking distance of eateries and shopping THE BAD , The check in counter is shared by the breakfast counter , thus the space to check in is very limited , if there’s a couple of other guests in front of you checking in , then the process will be eternal The sitting area for the folks on your party to wait until the check is completed it’s taken up by diners therefore there’s really no waiting area My fellow travelers had to stand by the elevators while I finished checking in Getting to beautiful Salzburg is not easy , it’s a long drive if your are coming from anywhere in the west , yet you must fill out 4 pages of information on a tablet before you are handed the room keys … the entire process is very slow Except for Bianca , the folks behind the counter could use some guest relations training , they wore a permanent frown ,were not impolite or rude , but a smile once in a while goes a long way THE UGLY , the towels are rags , not towels , the bed making

The hotel was clean and ecofriendly. Easy to get to from the train station and walking to old town was doable. The staff was helpful and breakfast was good. However this is a modern no frills hotel-if you want luxurious you should chose another hotel.

The condition of the property was ok, however I rated average because of the following: 1. My bedroom was located in an area in which you hear a lot of noise at midnight because the suppliers deliver at that hour in front of the window of my bedroom. 2) I went to the Cafe by the reception and there were 2 people attending, a very kind and attentive man and a very mean and disrespectful blond woman who didn't treat me right when I inquired about the food that they were offering at dinner for dec 24th.

Our stay was amazing. We stayed at multiple hotels while in Europe and this was by far our favorite. We loved having the bar. Also, Chris and Emi at the reception desk were exceptional and were so kind and helpful.

The hotel is nice and clean. We booked a three person room but ended up with only two beds made up. Had to wait for the third bed late at night which was inconvenient and inappropriate. Requested at the reception for room cleaning on the second day but none happened. The internal arrangement of the hotel was no good. Room was of fair size. But there was no desk, not even a small coffee table. No where to put any stuff except the thin wall shelf which contains the TV. There was a swing chair which was a gimmick and quite fun at first sight but turned into a nuisance when one tries to avoid bumping into it. The bathroom has only a tiny hook for holding bath towels. Cannot possibly accommodate three person use. The hotel can reconsider redoing its furniture and fittings to make it more helpful and user friendly

Had expected a room at this cost to be equipped with at least a bar fridge, some cups with teaspoon and table space, instead, there was a swing that was not very practical. A mini cooler can be rented with an extra charge of 15euro. If you need water, you have to collect yourself from the reception, very inconvenient if you have already changed into PJ. Cleaning services need to be booked from the reception as well. Little perks such as welcome cookies and apples at the reception.
