Spyglass is one of my favorite places to stay in SLO. Being close to the water is one of the reasons that brings me back to staying here. Although the rooms are a bit outdated, they are comfortable. I would recommend staying there.

It was a very nice stay. The room was clean and well kept. It's one of the few hotels left that has a bath tub. The staff was friendly and always available. The location is great, low traffic, not crowded, and pet friendly. Highly recommend.

There is no bathroom in the lobby so instead of checking in as we wished we were sent to a nearby park to use their bathroom and wait around until our room was ready. The room was clean but nothing special. It was fine but the best part was the tea on coffee in the lobby. Unremarkable hotel stay.

Excellent location. Very lovely grounds, which connect to a paved path that winds along the strip of hotels along the cliff overlooking the beach and the vast Pacific. Dining options are a short drive away. Staff are very helpful. We didn’t try the pool and hot tub, but they appeared very inviting in better weather. The room was nicely appointed and the bed very comfortable. The only item less than 5 stars is the property condition, which is a bit dated, having been built in the 1970’s. The property overall doesn’t need work, but a room-by-room updating would be in order. For the room we stayed in, the electrical outlets could be moved to be adjacent to the furniture and eliminate the unsightly power cords. The sofa’s woodwork is a bit worn, and could be replaced with a more comfortable one (rolled arms rather than wood frame). Overall, though, a very nice experience and very good value.

Old property, noisy outside, for $250 a night, way too expensive. Old carpeting, no microwave inside the room. If you want coffee or tea, you need to get it from the lobby. Tried asking for a refund 10 minutes after checking in to no avail. Buyer beware.

Loved when you walk in the room is super clean. Love that I had acces to fire pit outside and enjoyed it. Reception very friendly gave me a list of restaurants to enjoy. My stay was wonderful.
