Great stay
High in the hills and cooler as a result thankfully as we came from Rome where it was 38 degrees. Pool lovely. Setting beautiful. Car vital. Hosts delightful. We’d come back we loved it so much. Food at restaurant around corner is really good value and excellent. We took train to Lucca for the day once which made a nice day out.

Very nice location
The cottage is just as beautiful as shown in the pictures. From it you have a fantastic view of the mountains. It is in an absolutely quiet location and convenient for excursions. An osteria and a minimarket are within walking distance. We have made several trips to the mountains for hiking and to the surrounding villages and Lucca. The vacation home is clean, well maintained, lovingly furnished and very well equipped. A highlight besides the pool and ping pong table is the stone oven, we have baked pizzas a few times. In the process, the very friendly and always helpful landlords provided us with wood and tips. We were also provided with local delicacies from time to time. The landlords are always responsive and very helpful, but you get nothing else from them. We enjoyed the cottage so much that we just stayed at the house for a few days. We can very well imagine coming here again.

We have just left the property of Louise in San Romano in Garfagnana What a week 👍☀️ The view from the pool / terrace- overseeing the mountains is some we have never experienced before The facility indoors were both clean and as the pictures on the homepage Our hostess was both very helpful, provided us with both fruit, vegetables as well as good advice when needed - and the pool got cleaned every day So all in all a place that we can recommend to everybody who wants a peaceful vacation in spectacular surroundings Warm regards Else & Peer

Wonderful week in a wonderful house!
I was there with my two children (ages 9 and 11) and my mother. The kids loved the pool and exploring the property. My mother loved sitting by the pool and watching the goats come in each afternoon. We spent one day hiking around the fort but the rest were spent lounging and eating. An absolutely perfect getaway!

Overall beautiful property
The property looks just like the pictures, very beautiful! The owner is very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. A few issues we had was that it was a bit difficult getting to the property and location wasnt great for us in terms of distance from grocery stores, things to do, etc. We did have a couple of scorpions in our room which was a bit uncomfortable. The beds were a bit dated and soft. Pool was too cold for us to use.

Lovely villa with gorgeous views
Very clean throughout and really remote but beautiful location. We ate at the restaurant just up the hill several times which served amazing food and reasonably priced. Outdoor area is gorgeous and our kids loved the pool although it is quite cold. Louise was very helpful throughout our stay and left lots of essentials to use. Villa was generally cool in the August heat however bedrooms were quite warm of an evening as there is no a/c. All kitchen needs catered for so nice to cook in. You need a car to get to the supermarket although it’s only a 10 minute drive. Thanks for an enjoyable stay which suited our family of 5 (kids age 15, 13 and 7)

A Beautiful Property in a Fantastic holiday location
The property is in a beautiful location in northern Tuscany with easy access to local villages and shops. Although taking a slight wrong turn to get there (stay on the road from San Romano to Verrecole), our arrival was smooth and it was very pleasant to see such a great holiday home that is as good as the pictures. The property was very clean and has all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Louise was on hand to offer advice and help with any questions, and provided us with some lovely squash from her garden. The BBQ and pizza oven made it difficult to want to go elsewhere to dine, but I would recommend the restaurant in the local village. The pool was spotless and there are several comfortable seats and loungers. We had a party of 3 adults and 2 children (age 7 and 5) and found it great for our needs. Would highly recommend

Lovely house, amazing views, tranquil setting, and wonderful people to welcome us!
This is a perfect home to stay with friends and family, to get away from the craziness of the world, and enjoy the tranquility of northern Tuscany. The owners are nearby for help if you need it but always at a discrete distance. BBQ and pizzas in the outdoor wood over while kids are in the night-lit swimming pool with a little music on is simply heaven. Shopping is something to plan a bit as there are some simple alimentary 5-10m drive and a decent Coop about a 20m drive, but really enjoyed that this forced us to be smart about shopping (2 runs in 1 week) rather than going every day! The nearby Castello made for a nice outing (try the chestnut beer!) and the village offers simple but fantastic food from lovely people. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend it to others.

Stunning home, unbelievable views
The house is amazing, the location is remote, peaceful and beautiful. Louise is very kind, close by,but you would never know she is there. Magically the lounge cushions move under the umbrella when rain threatens. The house and pool are immaculate. The town of Verrucole has only 46 residents, but has a first class restaurant, and a remarkable tourist destination, on the hill above the house. Getting awoken by a herd of goats with their bells jangling is charming. My only complaint is with VRBO and HomeAway, the ad states in two places that the house has Air Conditioning , but no where in Lousies description ones it say that. The house does not have Air Conditioning. I think Homeaway owes use a bit of refund. No matter we had a near perfect holiday.

The pictures on the website really do this place justice. Stunning. The view from the patio and pool area will keep you catching your breath endlessly, it changes every hour. The villa has loads of space and was spotlessly clean - I mean, there wasn't a speck of dust or fluff anywhere. Very comfortable accommodation for the five of us. I can't really speak more highly of the place. The pool - amazing. The house - amazing. The patio and outdoor kitchen - amazing. The views - amazing. You can see right over to the alps, which is just stunning. There is a traditional pizza oven for your use - do try it, it's an education. Bear in mind that it takes a few hours to heat up properly and you have to keep stoking it. Huge fun, though. Out host, Louise, was delightful. I read some great stuff in other reviews about the owners and we had a similar experience. Louise and her family live in the adjacent house but you wouldn't know they were there, except when we had the occasional visit with freshly picked fruit and vegetables - the plums and squashes were totally superb. The local area is fabulous. Do check out the medieval fort, which is just a 10 minute walk up the hill, it is fantastic. For such a small village, literally a handful of houses, it has a brilliant restaurant and we ate there a couple of times. The pizzas are outstanding. There are loads of other places to visit around the area, some of the villages have markets - one to check out is Barga which is beautiful and we took a trip to Pisa, which is a couple of hours drive away - well worth it. Go for it, you'll not be disappointed!

Prima verblijf met prachtig uitzicht
Het was even zoeken waar de woning precies lag. Na een hobbelig pad van grind/stenen kwamen we bij de parkeerplaats voor de auto’s. Vervolgens moet je lopend nog een meter of 10/15 stijl naar beneden over een pad van asfalt. Vervolgens zie je het prachtige uitzicht met het prive zwembad, 2 leuke zitjes en de woning. De woning is typisch Italiaans ingericht, netjes en schoon! Het verblijf was heerlijk we hebben onwijs genoten. Klein minpunt is dat het ongeveer 1 uur rijden is naar bijvoorbeeld Lucca. Met kleine kinderen net iets te ver. Verder zou het echt een mega pluspunt zijn als de weg naar de woning aangepast zou worden! Louise is een heel aardige vrouw die duidelijk communiceert en altijd klaar staat voor de huurder!

This is a lovely place. Not easy to reach but once you get there, it is wonderful. It is a quite place. Everything you need for a great holiday is there. It looks pretty much like the pictures on the internet. The women who runs it was very friendly, speaks english and is nice to talk to. We might go there again.

Es hat eine großartige Lage für eine perfekte Aussicht und die Ausstattung war auch sehr gut. Allerdings war die Vermieterin schriftlich nicht zu erreichen, sondern nur per Telefon zur Absprache der Ankunft im Vorfeld. Die Anreise- und Abreisezeit bei fewo-direkt waren leider falsch angegeben. Ab 15uhr Anreise und 10uhr Abreise laut Vermieterin.

Das Objekt ist sehr sauber, liegt etwas abgelegen in den Bergen und ist daher ideal für alle, die absolute Ruhe und Erholung möchten. Allerdings müsste auch das ein oder andere renoviert werden. Die Matratzen in den Betten sind zum Teil sehr durchgelegen. Die beschriebene Tischtennisplatte ist vollkommen verzogen und daher nicht bespielbar. Uns hat es aber trotzdem sehr gut gefallen.

Super komfortable Villa - es fehlt an Nichts
Wir haben Alles so vorgefunden, wie es im Inserat beschrieben war und haben tolle neue Erfahrungen gemacht - z. Bsp. Pizza selber im Holzofen backen. Liebevolle Einrichtung. Die Lage ist etwas triggi - man sollte ein aktuelles Navi haben und keine Angst vor anspruchsvollen Strecken. Besonders die Anfahrt von Norden her über Modena ist mit nicht enden wollenden Serpentinen verbunden - besser gehts über Aulla bzw. gleich über Lucca. Absolut empfehlenswertes Domizil mit äußerst gastfreundlicher Vermieterin. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
