Beautiful, Centrally Located, Design District Apartment by Lucky Savannah

This two bedroom, two bath apartment is centrally located on Whitaker Street. No matter which direction you set out in the morning, you’ll be just blocks away from all that Savannah has to offer.

When you open the front door, you're immediately greeted by a large and comfortable living area. You shouldn’t need a vacation from your vacation, so don’t feel bad about spending an evening in, curled up on this comfortable couch watching a show (or two!). Whether you’re enjoying coffee and breakfast at the kitchen counter breakfast bar, or dinner at the cozy dining table, the Eleanor has plenty of room for quality family time. At the end of the hall you’ll find a full bath and a Queen bed in the first bedroom. The Primary Suite has a king bed and renovated full bath.

When you’re ready to start your day, just cross the street to tour St. John’s Episcopal Church, known for its melodious chimes and magnificent stained glass windows. In 1942, St. John’s the Green-Meldrim House, one of Savannah’s finest examples of Gothic Revival architecture. During the Civil War, General Sherman occupied the Green-Meldrim House and penned his famous telegram to President Lincoln, presenting the city of Savannah as a Christmas present.

The only problem we had with the property is the entrance. The gate doesn't allow for ease of access and the absence of handrails makes it a little difficult to navigate for older patrons. Otherwise, a great place.

We were charmed by this historic property right from the front iron gate. It was very comfortable for a mother / daughter weekend. We were far enough from the main touristy center for peace and quiet, but close enough to easily walk there. This place had everything we needed!

Ideal location -- very close (short walk) to lots of great restaurants and shopping. Felt safe, and the management company was responsive. Very clear check in and check out processes. There are 2 full baths (the online listing says there are less, but management confirmed the accurate information)!

this place was very good- everything as advertised. Parking was a problem for us as the parking garage check in was difficult. Finally moved to another location. It was St. Patrick's Day week so parking was limited.

The property is ideally located. Don’t bother renting a car! Anything you might need is a short walk away. Parker’s confidence store is near by and has the basics: eggs, milk, fresh bread, etc. for any meals you may choose to make in the well stocked kitchen apartment but with so many great restaurants in the area, you might not do any cooking!

Absolute gem!
We can't say enough great things about our stay at the Eleanor! This apartment was immaculately clean, the perfect amount of vintage with modern updates, and the location was perfect. We could walk literally everywhere, parking was a breeze at the nearby parking garage, and we felt very safe in the area. My friend and I have already said when we return to Savannah for our next trip, we want to stay here again.

This is a great property, conveniently located for SCAD orientation weekend w our son. Older bldg, but the apartment is nicely updated while still respecting some of the nicer (ex: hardwood floors) original features. Street is a bit busy, but bedrooms located at the back for a quiet night's sleep. Mgt company very communicative & accommodating - even storing our bags when our flight was early & apt wasn't ready. W/D in unit, fully appointed kitchen, 2 full baths, plenty of room to gather -or not. Would definitely recommend! Thank you!

Great for a family trip
This apartment was in an awesome location, was really clean, and had a lot of nice character. Definitely appreciated the quantity of towels and extras (dishwasher pods, laundry detergent). It was a great size for our family of 4, and even with two small kids, we were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. Places we recommend if traveling with kids: the GA railroad museum and the lobby of the Marriott, which is like a museum with tons of fossils and huge geodes.

Everything inside was well kept (except for a roach or two running around - maybe the weather). Outside is not really like the posted picture ... kind of run down - also with roaches. Great location, quiet, accessible to everything... inside was updated, with lots of supplies... management was responsive... overall, not a bad deal.

Property was ideally located between City Market and Forsyth Park. It was easy to walk everywhere. We found the city parking garage at Liberty and MLK was great place to park and only about 3 blocks away. Nicely appointed kitchen and a comfortable lounge area. The street noise is a bit loud in the family room, but doesn’t affect the bedrooms at the back.

The location of this property is great and was walkable to every area of interest in the historic district; free DOT bus stop one block away; charming historic building; down side was no designated parking but there is a public parking garage two blocks away with reasonable rates. Would stay here again and highly recommend to others.
