Do yourself a favor and pick a different hotel. We had been looking forward to a trip to Savannah for years. We booked this hotel based on its description, location and the fact that it's advertised as a 4-star hotel. It's a 2 star at best. The room they gave us had a VERY outdated bathroom, there was no counter space/storage for any toiletries. The shower tile was cracked and had a huge hole surrounding the faucet, there was long, black hair in the shower, what we didn't realize until the next morning was that the shower didn't even work. When we turned the heat on it filled the room with an exhaust smell so bad we had to open the windows. We went to the front desk to tell them of our issues and ask for another room and the front desk person was VERY rude. She basically said nothing, just grunted, did some typing and handed us another room card. That room was better however we were woke up in the middle of the night by the furnace "grinding" and making a screeching sound the entire time it ran. The shower also alternated between hot and cold water every minute or so. Before we checked out we spoke with the front office manager Morgan Robinson who said she would be in touch with us as to what they may be able to do (I'm guessing since our stay was over to perhaps credit us a bit for all the trouble)-unfortunately she NEVER got back to us. Horrible service. Also you HAVE to pay 45 bucks a night for valet parking there is no self parking.

The Desoto's perfect location in the historic district provided us with convenient walking access to everything we planned to see and do. Very responsive and well-connected concierge (Becky), and the valet staff, especially Charlie was attentive and welcoming. Loved having the pool for a daily dip. We'll definitely stay again when we return to Savannah!

Great stay! This was our second time staying at this hotel and we love it. It’s got great amenities, and it’s centrally located to so much great stuff! And there is good food, drink and a coffee shop on site. Can’t beat it.

$45 a night is pretty messed up. I have stayed all over the world and this is about a pricey as it gets for hotel parking. I have paid less in NYC. You guys aren’t a 5 star hotel so taking advantage of your guest isn’t very cool.
