What could have and at the price should have been a fabulous stay was let down by a number of things. On arrival we parked up and walked into the reception to check in, carrying heavy bags. After being pointed out the bar, restaurant etc we were then told that our accommodation was an external cottage style room 50m or so away. This was fine except there was not even an offer of assistance with luggage. Once in the room, which was nice, we rested up before subsequently heading back to the main building for dinner. It was on and off rain so we looked for umbrellas, of which there were none. What there was outside the bedroom door was a vacuum cleaner, a roll up bed and piles of fresh laundry.
On going to bed we realised that a blind was missing from an external window. So at 10:30 pm we had to get someone to come and put up a temporary one.
Such a shame when hotels, especially expensive ones, ask their guests to become their quality control department.
