The room was great. We reserved the room for 4 people and was charged $40 for the extra (2) guest. We had to ask for two more sets of towels, which wasn’t a problem but they wouldn’t give two extra bottles of water. The lady at the front desk asked the hotel manager and the manager said no. I know it’s only water but those two extra bottles for the two extra guest on which we paid for was really going to hurt the hotels pocket that much. Extremely cheap

We brought our dog and they told us at check-in that they only had one room that accepted dogs left. We got lucky! So remember to contact the hotel in advance if you are bringing a pet. They charge an additional $50 per night for the pet, PLUS a one-time cleaning fee of $50, so for 2 nights we were hit with an additional $150. There is only one restaurant on the casino side but the food and service were good. We drove into Port Perry which also had some good restaurants.

I had a ground floor room with a window to the sidewalk which is awkward at best - unsure why this was done? I wanted to do some writing but the room lighting was so dim, it was difficult to do so, so i went over to the casino seating area to do my work. The room was clean but the bedside light didn't work. Overall, a fine place to sleep, but not a luxury hotel for a casino resort getaway.

The property itself is beautiful and though we don’t gamble we took advantage of the on-site restaurant and grab and go food stand too, which were both quite solid. It is essential that you have a car as there is no transport of any kind off-island to downtown Port Perry. Staff were lovely in both the hotel and the restaurant. The three things that were frustrating were the lack of staff available (one person on the front desk meant I had to line up just to purchase a soda); the noise of late night gamblers returning to their rooms meant it was hard not to be woken up; and the huge problem was that it cost $222 to bring our tiny dog with us as there is a madatory $49/nite plus taxes fee on to of a second $49 cleaning fee which by any estimation is excessive and frankly, off-putting. When it costs more for the pet to stay three nights than it does a couple the management should rethink things. Free coffee and an otherwise pristine hotel w/cute little gym and beautiful backyard terrace and murals were a nice touch.

Nice place
The hotel was clean and the rooms were comfortable and modern. The only thing is that there is no coffee maker in the room, which doesn't seem like a big deal but was definitely missed while I was there for a week.

The room was very clean and quiet. The staff was friendly abd helpful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good and staff friendly. The room didn't have a coffeemaker or microwave which was disappointing. The tub was high and a little difficult to step into which could be a problem for some people.

Great Blue Heron
Great Blue Heron rooms are spacious and clean, with nice large bathrooms with a deep tub. The only downside is the lighting is soft and moody, not enough light to read in bed. They had LED lights that might of helped with this problem but ours didn’t work on either side of the bed. There is a food room on the main floor just past the elevators where they offer free coffee and tea in the morning as there is no coffee maker in the rooms. The beds are comfortable. The staff are very friendly and pleasant to deal with. The eatery and restaurant (in the casino right beside the hotel) food was good and the staff were very friendly and personable
