These were inconvenient things in my room of this hotel.
1) One of the three elevators was out of service. There were a lot of guests staying overnight, so the elevator itself was really slow and always packed.
2) My foods and drinks in the refrigerator were not cold at all. I looked closely, I saw that the thermostat had been removed.
3) No power outlets next to the bed.
4) No WiFi, though there was a cord for a computer. 5) No robe.
Very good location in the heart of Shari. Excellent staff and service. Breakfast buffet is ok, supermarket down the street is fairly well stocked. Easy access to all the sights on the Shiretoko Peninsula. Only negatives are the small room and hard pillows, otherwise a great place to stay.
I stayed in a 'comfort twin' room for 4 nights and really liked this hotel. The room was a good size and I had a lovely view of the mountains to the north.
It's probably been a while since this hotel has been refurbished but the public areas were comfortable. There are a number of vending machines, an ice machine and you can get free hot drinks from a machine in the lobby.
The staff were friendly and arranged the forwarding of my luggage with Yamato. Breakfast was a self service buffet with a reasonable selection of hot and cold dishes, including some pastries. It's the first time that I've stayed anywhere that has a machine that dispenses rice.
I travelled by public transport and the hotel is very conveniently located opposite the train station and just round the corner from the bus station. On the corner opposite the hotel is a seicomart (Hokkaido chain of combini like 7Eleven and Lawsons).
I'd very happily stay here again if I return to Shari.
Location is excellent which is opposite to the JR station. The breakfast was not much choice but just ok.
The in house onsen is very good which looks a real onsen which your skin felt smooth.
Hotel is conveniently located across from the bus and train stations.
Easy check in, room was clean and spacious.
They have hot spring bath on the main floor.
Morning breakfast had been discontinued, I presume this was because it is late in the tourism season and there wasn't many visitors.
There is a mini mart across the road and a few restaurants nearby.
Very conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal making it a good place to stay while visiting Shiretoko National Park using public transport.
The hotel also has a nice hot spring.
Close to the station which is very convenient. Very clean room and helpful stuff.

My non-smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke
This is a really nice, good-looking hotel in a great location that, unfortunately, has non-smoking rooms that still smell of cigarette smoke.
I was on a non-smoking floor (the hallways did not smell of smoke) in a non-smoking room (but the room did). I suspect it's smoke making its way into the room from floors above or below. The only saving grace was that I could open the window, which helped a lot.
The hotel is right next to the train station, so it's an ideal location, and you're right in the heart of downtown Shari.
Mostly quiet, too. Window open? You can hear people talking outside, even on the upper floors. Window closed? Silence.
I did not opt for breakfast, so I don't know how that is.
There is a coffee machine in the lobby you can use for road coffee or to take up to you room.
Parking is at the back of the property and there's an entry door back there for lobby access.
If they could purge the hotel of cigarette smoke, I'd be more than happy to stay here again. Until then, not.
Nice place! Near station, less than 2 minutes walk. Room very clean, nice staffs I liked it!

Hotel in Shari
Shari isn't a tourist town therefore the hotel is geared to their main clientele which is the short stay business person. The breakfast option is understandably not geared to the Western belly and breakfast and coffee places in town are limited. The beds are so incredibly hard (ie. looked like a normal bed but felt like a traditional Japanese bed) - which I actually slept on better than I thought.
We booked 2 rooms. The rooms and toilets in it were smaller, as compared to the other 5 hotels we stayed in different part of Hokkaido. Comfortable bed and pillow. Simple Japanese breakfast, if paid for it, was generally tasty to a typical Japanese food standard.
A lady hotel staff was great, changing our room to one with a view of the mountains! Definitely made our stay there amazing with the spectacular view! So convenient too; just next door to the bus terminal and JR train station!
