Pool was in pretty bad shape. Looked cloudy and dirty. We expressed concern to staff but didn’t get any real answers. We were there for 4 days with 3 kids and booked this place for the pool but couldn’t take them swimming in it.

Clean up this hotel or charge less!

First night, we arrived 11 am, waited until 3:15 for our room, customer service terrible, went to our room, it was terrible, very, very dirty, complained & put us into another room, which was ok. We had to ask for towels, toilet paper, we asked to fix TV about five times, we stayed there nine days, went swimming couldn't stay in there too cold, this hotel needs a really big make over, furniture looks like something should be thrown out, not very good customer service, food in restaurant is discussing, our room was cleaned once in 9 days.The only good thing about this hotel is in the heart of Halifax!

Had a great stay at the Barrington. Walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. Parking was a bit weird to get to but nonetheless enjoyed our time!

The location is very convenient, right in the heart of downtown. However, the property is in need of a serious revamp as it is clearly showing its age. Housekeeping is only done every three days, which is unusual for a hotel stay. We had to ask for fresh towels, as well as additional coffee and tea, since the supplies provided were minimal. The same goes for toiletries—nothing was initially provided, and the shampoo dispenser didn’t work. We eventually noticed a supply cart in the corridor with other complimentary toiletries, but we had to call and specifically request them. Overall, while the location is excellent, the outdated condition of the property and lack of basic amenities made the stay less comfortable than expected.

Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. Old rooms, carpet is questionable, but clean enough. It gets very stuffy in the room and the windows won’t open which I didn’t love, but I’m sure that’s less of an issue when it’s not summer. It was a good place to sleep and a decent location for the price we paid.

Location was ideal, however 12 minute walk to our car was terribly inconvenient. And cleaning every three days was also a first. Prior to covid most establishments cleaned the room daily, then covid was used to keep the cleaners out and now covid losses are keeping the room tidiers at bay. It’s noticeable
