From arrival to departure, service was exemplary - friendly and attentive, yet in no way patronizing. The town of Adelboden itself is exquisite, with incredible scenery at all sides, and to be thoroughly recommended. It is quintessentially Swiss, yet -oddly enough - not 'touristy'.
The room was to expectation, and the views from the balcony stunning.
We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Breakfast - taken either inside or on the terrace in full view of the mountains - was the complete buffet that only the Swiss and Germans can do so well - fresh rolls and bread, muesli, meats, cheeses, eggs - its all there in a huge buffet, along with the appropriate coffees.
Dinner was to be lingered over. Again, service impeccable, and I would strongly encourage adherence to their 'set menu', for which the chef daily seeks to outdo himself. Small courses of well prepared and well complimented food, eaten to the sound of the piano player (who seems to play continuously during the afternoon and evening) make the dining experience a delight.
Parking is easy, and the hotel staff went out of their way to get orientate us to our surroundings, giving us free passes to all cable cars, museums etc.
