The space
The cabin is our special place. It is where our young son experienced his first-time fishing, seeing a deer in the wild and making a campfire. We hope that as we open our home up to you and those you hold dear will leave you feeling rested, connected, and adventurous.
Our cabin community is located just off Highway 2 and it can be audible from the front deck. Your cleaning fee goes directly to a local woman owned small business supporting their families. There is no sanitation department in Skykomish, being this remote requires all laundry, garbage, etc., to be taken off-site. Thank you for support in these matters.
Our 1,030 sq ft A-frame cabin, fully remodeled in 2022, is the perfect retreat for those seeking modern comforts with rustic charm. Whether you’re hitting the slopes in winter or exploring hiking, mountain biking, or fishing in the summer, our cabin offers the ideal home base. Within Timberlane Village, trails lead to a private community beach on the South Fork of the Skykomish River, complete with new picnic tables and barbecues, offering picturesque views of the river and surrounding forests.
Inside, you'll find a lofted king-size bed and a comfortable queen-size bed downstairs. The cabin is fully furnished with high-quality linens, down comforters, and pillows. The chef's kitchen features a gas stove, new Samsung appliances, high-end cutlery, and all the kitchen essentials you need including specialty Vietnamese coffee from local company 36 Streets. Other amenities include a 55" Smart TV, gigabit Wi-Fi, a selection of board games, and a hot tub just off the new back deck. A backup generator ensures your stay is uninterrupted.
Bookings: We have a 2-day minimum on weekends and only a 1-day minimum on weekdays. For 3 day weekends or holidays please reach out to us as we do book them via inquiry up to 90 days in advance.
Guest access
24-48 hours before your check-in, you will receive an automated door lock code that will show up on Airbnb.
Your code will be active from 4pm on the day of check-in until 11am on the day of check-out.
Please reach out to us if you need some flexibility around these times. There is a lockbox that contains keys to the front and back doors, providing a backup in case of any front door battery issues.
Other things to note
• Parking: Space for 2 vehicles side by side. In winter, the parking may be snowed in; a snow shovel is available in the side storage (code: 1212). The Timberlane Village Community has a strict HOA policy against road parking in winter as it can impede snow removal. There is an audio/video Ring security camera at the front deck.
•Fireplace: The propane fireplace is the primary source of heat in the living room area and is controlled by the remote mounted on the wall to the right of the fireplace. Use the remote to adjust the thermostat and fan as desired. Please set the thermostat to 58 degrees upon departure.
•Heat: Additional heating in the living room, dining room and kitchen is provided by portable inferred heaters located in the hallway closet & bedroom closets. Each bedroom also has an electrical wall heater that can be turned on by turning the dial thermostat. The Bathroom heat is provided by the ceiling heater fan/light via the switches on the wall.
•Motion sensor stair lights: The LED lights on the stairway wall have two settings. If the light switch on the wall at the bottom of the stairs is on (up), the lights will stay on, if the switch is off (down) the lights will be controlled by a motion sensor and will go on as someone walks up or down the stairs at night.
•AeroBed/Pack&Play: For additional sleeping there is a full height queen size AeroBed in the loft bedroom closet along with bedding. The air bed can be set up in the loft or in the living room area. There is a built in electric air pump for the AeroBed. In the downstairs bedroom closet is a Pack & Play for our little guests.
•Grill: There is a propane grill on the back deck with a back-up propane tank. The grill tools are found in the top kitchen counter drawer nearest to the dinning room table.
•Hot Tub: If you plan to use the hot tub, on arrival please check that the temperature is set to 100-104F as sometimes the emergency power breaker trips and it can cool down. It takes roughly 1 hour to raise the temperature 2-5 degrees.
Guests must ALWAYS SHOWER before and after using the hot tub. Please be careful opening and closing the hot tub cover. Gently lift the cover from the front vertically and the support bar will raise it up the rest of the way and hold it in place. If the hot tub is left open for an extended period debris can get sucked into the pump system resulting in damage that a guest could be liable for. Our cleaning team also cleans & services the hot tub and checks for any issues between each booking.
•Outdoor lights: The exterior string lights are on a light sensor and turn on a little after dusk. There is also a manual remote in the house above the fireplace.
•Waste Disposal: Please do not dispose of grease in the sink or disposal-instead, please use the garbage. There is a brown trash can or white recycle bin in the side shed accessible on the front deck, the code is 1212. There are bears, racoons and other forest friends that would love to see what trash was left behind so if you are able please pack your rubbish out with you on departure. If it is not possible you can put it in the receptacles in the shed & say a prayer that we don’t get any un-booked forest guests.
•Septic system: Just like the grease in the sink or other substantial food items please do not put anything in the toilet except for the provided toilet paper. The last thing you want is a sewage back-up to sour your stay.
•No Smoking in the cabin: Our mom gets migraines from cigarette smoke so we really apricate your consideration! All cigarette butts need to be placed in the shed trash can if smoking takes place outside.
•Firewood: Purchase bundles for $5 cash from the vendor stand located before Beckler Road and the Skykomish River bridge on Highway 2.
•Local Dining: Enjoy meals at LouSkis Deli in town. There’s also a bar and coffee shop. For groceries, plan ahead and pack what you need, as there is no grocery store in Skykomish. Basic necessities are available at the Sky Gas Station.
Thank you for taking the time to read all of that, we know it is a lot! We strive to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out through the booking platform.
