Rustic beauty on Lake Michigan

Bask in the beauty that is Michigan in the fall- watch the colors change from the large deck overlooking 100’ of Lake Michigan.

Avoid the crowds at this tucked away lake home! Pack up the family for a memorable autumn getaway at our 5 bedroom/3 bath lake house located between the resort towns of South Haven and Saugatuck. Enjoy the calming sound of the waves and spectacular sunsets that only Lake Michigan can provide.

The Space:

As you plan the rest of your 2020 and family plans, we hope we can provide you with a safe and healthy environment in which your family can make memories in. In order to provide that environment for you, we will work to ensure that the home is clean, and comfortable for you. We will continue a 24-hour period between rentals in order to maintain cleanliness and ensure that the home is safe for you and your family.

We understand that you may not be venturing out too much and have provided both indoor and outdoor entertainment so your family can enjoy your vacation. Outdoor yard games, beach toys and a hose sprinkler are also available. Inside the house are several games, books, a doll house, shuffleboard, foosball table and many toys to keep the little ones busy on a rainy afternoon. Curl up, pop some popcorn and watch a movie on those cool fall nights. A pack-n-play, beach tent, highchair, bouncy chair, audio monitor and portable play-yard are also available. If you will be using the baby gear, please advise and I will have it all easily accessible.

We have DirectTV with a DVR in the main and downstairs living room. A DVD player and WII as well as an old school Nintendo system are also hooked up downstairs with movies and games to choose from. A washer & dryer is available with laundry soap provided. Basic WiFi is also available.

Takeout is available at several eateries in the area or if you prefer to cook in, you will find a Blackstone griddle and propane grill and charcoal on the deck overlooking the water. Inside is a basic kitchen with an apartment sized range. Plenty big of enough for a couple trays of cookies but not for a 20# turkey. There are two refrigerators at the house to hold all the groceries you'll need for the week. Coolers for the keeping drinks cold on the deck are also available. The outdoor sink shown in the photo is not operational at this time. Grilling on the large deck overlooking Lake Michigan while the kids play in the yard is a great way to spend a fall night. Spend your night, around the fire roasting marshmallows as the sun sets over Big Blue.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, which features a fireplace. There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. The bathroom with a shower/tub combination features a jetted bathtub and a hair dryer.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.

Slice of heaven
Located between South Haven and Saugatuck. Many things to do in both places. When not exploring the home offer so much inside and the best views outside. I would satay here again.

Great time on the Big Lake
Our family had a memorable time at Rachel's home which had everything you need for a family vacation. Grandchildren enjoyed all the toys indoors and outdoors. Short drive to lovely South Haven for beach, restaurants, church and shopping. Highly recommend. A+++

Great place
We had a great vacation. There were 4 children 7 and younger. The property is as described. We enjoyed the fire pit for s'mores and the view. No issues came up and the owner is extremely responsive with any questions.

We loved the first floor, thought the lower level outside was very dirty.
There was also a strong urine smell down stairs. Location was great, loved the kitchen and dining room. Very dirty under the couches!!! The Blackstone was filthy and the fire pit was too full to use. I know rentals can be difficult to keep up, but we did enjoy our stay. Becky

Phenomenal family getaway
My husband and I stayed here for a week with our 2 small children. We immediately fell in love with this place. It really is a rustic beauty. The inside of this house is amazing and really unique. We loved the beautiful sunsets every night. We also loved the big yard and the view of the water. Our kids had so much fun playing on the deck, the slide and with all the toys they provided. It's a short scenic drive to the South Haven beaches so our kids could play on the playground and in the sand. This is such a unique place to stay and created really special memories for us. We had to communicate with the owner a couple times and she was extremely responsive and helpful. We plan to return next year!

Great place!
We rented this place for us and our two kids for a long weekend away. The property could not have been nicer - the views from the yard are amazing!. Our girls (3 & 5) LOVED the slide from the deck! The home was clean and had lots of places to play and hang out. I would say the only drawback was the small kitchen and lack of dishwasher, but with only four of us, we made it work no problem. Also, while there is internet, don’t expect to stream anything or work from the property. It was very slow, but it also helped us disconnect. Highly recommend this rental!

A much needed girls getaway
This is an amazing house with the most beautiful view of Lake Michigan. The new owners (Rachel/Chris) made sure the house had all of the basic necessities and even went a step further and added some extra flare with some fun Fall/Halloween decor. I immediately felt right at home from the first time I stepped foot into the house. Both Rachel and her husband Chris were very accessible and answered all my questions via email, text and phone in a very prompt manner. I highly recommend this house and I hope to be back in the near future. Thank you again for everything. Jodi Schilke
