A health code violation! Filthy and Run Down
This place is such a nightmare! It has missing bathroom and bedroom doors, it's moldy, it smells like marijuana, missing kitchen floor tiles, lightbulbs that do not work, bedroom sheets with blood, filthy all over kitchen to bathroom and in-between. It was so uncomfortable to stay here! Ian the host would show up randomly at my door. Now I see why he wanted all the complaints to go through him instead of VRBO. He promised to refund us but he never did. I knew he was full of bs the second he asked me to Venmo the dog fee. He tried to charge me twice. The house is oddly divided where Ian lives. Im pretty sure he spies on his guests. I wouldn't be surprised if there are hidden cameras. It's that kind of place! Two hours before my check-in time he sends me a msg delaying the check-in time by two hours due to cleaning. Well when I checked it the place was filthy! Bloody sheets, wet towls, dirty dishes, disgusting bathroom and dirt floor. It was smoky like someone had just finished hotboxing the place. There's a good chance he is growing marijuana because the smell never went away and it smelled like fresh marijuana. This place had me on edge the entire time. I didn't trust Ian. I would stay away from this place. He does not care about making any improvements.

No BATHROOM DOORS
Here are all facts from our stay:- No Bathroom doors- The unit was filthy, bathrooms, refrigerator, kitchen, every surface. Molding food in the refrigerator. - part of the house “under construction” we think someone was staying in part of the house.- one queen , two twins, sheets dirty we cleaned them on arrival -no extra bedding, we had to buy blankets -clogged toilet on arrival , we bought a plunger -coffee pot did not work -leaking ceiling, in kitchen -no shower curtain - All of this was communicated to Ian he apologized. I requested a reasonable refund of one night stay and the cleaning deposit. He did not respond or refund anything at this time. I waited 48hours to do the review, providing time for them to make some type of concession.

Gross. Avoid at all costs.
I consider this more of a warning/PSA than a review. Tahoe is expensive and we stayed at this place to save a few bucks. It's quirky and the photos seemed fine. We met the host, he was cordial and claimed the place was cleaned, so thought nothing of it until we spent a couple hours there. He went out to get toilet paper because of course there wasn't any. I'm far from a clean freak, but this place gave me the willies. Everything was adding insult to injury. Some other 'amenities' that you might not be aware of: -Nasty dishes in sink. Dirty dishes in cabinet -Nice 'Open Air Ant Farm' in the bathroom sink. Watch them make their own little city! -The duvet with literal caked vomit on it -Old school ski-town vibe decorations, covered in the original dust! -Shampoo bottle 'decorations' in the bathroom (empty, of course) -Play the game of 'avoid the sharp, cracked kitchen tiles'...Hours of fun! -Sweat out your toxins in 80 Degree bedroom-sauna. No air conditioning or fan needed! -We have photos but can’t post to this review I feel better after writing this, but this is far and away the grossest place I've stayed in, and I've stayed in some doozies. *** The host offered to take off the cleaning fee (never got cleaned, clearly)... We requested he cut the bill in half, to which he responded that it wasn't possible because there aren't other places this cheap in Tahoe that have big screen TV's and sleeps ten people. There are two twin beds and a Queen. OK buddy ;)
