2nd stay here before getting on cruise ship in Southampton. Enjoyed my stay - lovely breakfast, good restaurants. Comfortable accommodations, great location and reasonably-priced. Would stay there again for sure.

Online check in done before arriving. When we eventually got to the online check in desk, were given room keys and away. Unsure why we had such a long wait in the queue (other customers were there for a long time). Handwash in bathroom was empty on arrival. Had to use shower gel next to the bath when washing hands.

I was allocated a good sized clear quiet room which I was very happy with. For me the lighting in Leo's bar was too harsh, but I do prefer lower side lit environments so this is just preference. I asked the hotel to provide me with a VAT invoice for my parking and to include my company name on it so I can recover the VAT. They provided the invoice but ignored my request for the company name. This hits me in the pocket so they lose a point for that.

Nice but restricted child swim time disappointing
My daughter (9) and I stayed her as a treat for her birthday so that we could go for a shopping trip in Southampton. We arrived new years day hoping to relax for the afternoon in the pool and then go out for dinner but was told the leasure facilities were closed for news years day. We were told the pool opened at 8am the next day. Sadly they failed to mention that there was restricted hours for children so when we arrived at the pool in the morning after breakfast at 9.30 we were told that children were not able to swim after 9.30 and there was no exception to this. We booked this hotel over more basic hotels specifically for the pool and we didnt get to use it!! This was very disappointing. The hotel room was good, bed was very comfortable, fridge with complimentary water was a nice touch. Overall nice hotel but definitely need to be clearer about childrens swimming times so as to avoid disappointment (especially where we specifically asked about swimming times and it was not even mentioned!!)
