The place had everything one could need, even for an extended stay. The kitchenette was well stocked. It’s an easy 10 minute walk to the train station, even with roller bags. We would stay here again.

The property was newly refurbished. Rooms were very small. Check in was awkward, a few hours during the day the office is closed. We checked in on a Sunday and the office had closed at noon??? Had to figure out how to call the office, finally got thru and some one was there just shut the door. Ask all your questions because alot of information is not given unless you ask.

The hotel was in a perfect location - right next to the key area attractions. The room was clean and tidy but was a little on the small side. It was a little frustrating that the front desk was not staffed in the afternoon of Sunday for check in.

Tucked into a quiet stone street just around the corner from the Abbey and the old town, we lucked out and ended up here, at the best place to stay when exploring St. Gallen for the first time. We’ll be back!

We loved our two rooms; spacious, clean, nicely supplied. Registration was straightforward. Handy storage lockers on site (but you will need 2 CHF coins to use them).

Practically right next to St Gallen Library
We had a great experience. We initially visited St Gallen just to go to The Library, and didn’t realize how close this hotel was to the library. If we ever make it back here, I will definitely book this hotel. We loved this area.

I have taught at the University of St. Gallen twice a year for years, but never stayed at the Vadian. Don't be fooled by the two stars, it's a first-rate hotel, great location (a few blocks from the railway station and steps to the wildly Baroque abbey church). After more than 200 trips to Europe, I known European hotels, and the Vadian is great value.
