Handgun found in room.
Approximately 20 minutes after I checked out I received a call from the desk clerk informing me that they found a handgun in my room. I had not opened any drawers, cabinets or closets, so I couldn’t tell you what was I. The room besides me and a small overnight bag. I was shocked to find out there was a gun in the room. I told them I don’t own a handgun and had never had one. It kind of freaked me out as I kept expecting the police to call me. I also wondered why someone would leave a gun hidden in a motel room.

This was about an average stay. The room/property itself was clean and quiet. The refrigerator worked but was not even on the floor and rocked. We put stacked pieces of cardboard under it to help stabilize it. The shower downstairs our first night clogged - it took 2 days to get addressed due to a "communication error". The staff were friendly but did not really explain the "laws of the land" when we arrived. For example, we'd have to take out our own garbage and laundry to bins and bags located below the stairs. The kitchen faucet leaked and we asked for it to be fixed- never came back to fix while we were there (9 total days). The worst bit was breakfast- if you plan on staying there we would NOT recommend eating there. Although there was variety of options, most of it fell below expectations. Continental breakfast eggs are usually nothing to write home about- but every morning we went there- the eggs were burnt! I mean they were black eggs- inedible! The bacon was half cooked/half raw. Potatoes mushy. They had a taco bar- the green onions had the root ends in it and they looked like they had been frozen and thawed out for the meal. The lettuce was the same brown lettuce every single time we went. I'm pretty sure they were just putting the containers back in the fridge and not changing them out. The juice was watered down. Very disappointing.

I would stay here again. Staff friendly, room clean, luckily we got a room away from the freeway, quiet and bed was comfortable. Loved having a kitchen for cooking. Found the dishes and silverware in the dishwasher sterilized for my arrival. Nice!

Not impressed.
There were dogs barking every night. Our last night there it didn't stop until after midnight. Barking dogs and loudly talking people! Breakfast had breakfast burritos to make yourself as one of the choices. Not appealing at all. Turkey bacon and turkey sauage was cold every morning. We stayed four nights. The pancakes were great though. One of my pet peeves is not being greeted by the people working. They were too busy talking to each other to do that. Would not stay here again plenty of other choices in the area.

Good location right off of I64. Parking was ample and well lit. The room itself was clean, but could use a few improvements, which is why it was given 4 stars. First deduction was for the security bar. It was missing screws and very loose. The "cable" was very unstable and kept buffering. Super annoying. Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash was offered in the bathrooms, which is a wonderful perk, if they are filled. We arrived on a Friday and notified the desk the shampoo and body wash were out in both bathrooms, we asked to have them filled. We checked out on Sunday, and they were never filled though we were told it would be addressed. The location, size and cleanliness of the room would have us book here again. We will just know to pack our own body wash and shampoo next time.

The property was clean and quiet, but I encountered a problem with the kitchen sink, which had a rotten egg smell due to the disposal. I reported it to the front desk, and they resolved the issue quickly. Breakfast was decent; the eggs were burnt daily, but the pancakes were excellent for fans of them. The coffee was good, and other options were adequate. Having breakfast at the suites was a nice touch. The gym was quite small, featuring three machines (two treadmills and one elliptical), but only one treadmill was operational. With just three people, the gym felt crowded. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would recommend Sonesta Suites and stay again.

Not what we expected
When we walked into the room we noticed a strong musky and mildew smell. The room was dark because of poor lighting. We knew that we could not stay there overnight so we went back to front desk counter and explained that the room was unexceptable. The hotel is outdated and not like we were expecting from the pictures. We did not and will not ever stay there.
