Service at check was very slow and gentleman serving me was not very friendly. The pictures posted of the hotel were very deceiving. The floor our room was on was under renovation with half primed walls. A few people accidentally rubbed against the wall and ended up with some white dust-like stuff on their clothing. The hallway floors were very uneven. We forgot a pair of Disney pyjamas hung up behind the bathroom door. I called back a few times to see if they had been brought back to the desk by housekeeping. The first call, the gentleman said he didn’t know where to look for them at the front desk and refuse to ask anyone else. The next day, I made a second phone call and the lady was quick to respond that they had nothing. I figure housekeeping must of kept them as a pair of adult pyjamas is pretty hard to miss.

From the outside, this hotel doesn't look like much, but the location was perfect for us (show at the Albert-Rousseau theatre), and the bedroom we received was modern, ultra spacious and right next to the pool (or should I say the really nice tropical environment where the pool/spa are located). The staff at reception was also very polite and accommodating. The only important downside (not specific to Universal) is a new tendency in the hotel industry to stop "making the room" every day. This should be mentioned in the description/advertisement as it will influence my choice of hotel. If this service is not available (due to the shortage of staff, I was told), it should be reflected in the price, or another service (free breakfast?) should be added.
