Quaint, beautiful view on the canal with a bridge - like a postcard of an old Freisian town Rooms modern and spotless - A little small perhaps. Staff is 20 out of 10 .Stayed 4 days in this lovely place. Best of the many places we stayed during our 17 days in the Netherlands..
Wonderful hotel on the canal. Rooms over a restaurant (but make reservations for the restaurat). Short walk toi the historic center of Franker, plenty of excellent restuarats in the square and surrounding streets. Older property but wih modern ammenities. Free parking a few blocks away. Wonderful breakfast.
Very nice hotel, lovely location with restaurant terrace on dutch canal

Basic accommodation, fabulous food!
We arrived in the area late in the day and booked the room with very little input. It turned out to be in a very old building. The furnishings were basic but it was clean and provided everything we required. The staff was very acccommodating and arranged a dinner reservation for us despite the later hour in the hotel diningroom.. The meal was outstanding. We couldn't have asked for better. Overall it was a positive experience.

Hotel was okay and basic.
We booked through hotel.com and quoted €97.50 to be paid to the hotel. On checking out the receptionist gave us a bill for €170. After much discussion it was reduced to €120. I furthered argued that I should only be paying what I was quoted by hotel.com but the receptionist refused. I asked to see the owner/manager who attended and agreed I only had to pay the hotel.com quote much to my relief. The owner was very helpful and understanding.
Visiting friends who are renovating an historic home there.

This hotel is small with only a few rooms. The room we had was tiny, but reasonably comfortable. The towels available were a little thin and threadbare, but were replaced everyday. There is an excellent restaurant on-site, however, with great food and service. The free breakfast is nice and the folks who attended the hotel ( l'm not sure we saw the same face twice at the desk) were all helpful and friendly. It's only a short walk to the town centre- check out the planetarium.
A one night stay in Franeker for business in the area. Be warned that the stairs up to the rooms are quite steep. The location is good as it's only a five minute walk from the train station and then not much further in to the town. The rooms are adequate, nothing fancy, but perfectly suitable. Wifi signal was good and there was a space in the room for working easily. The evening meal I had was lovely - but some menu items were quite expensive.
During my stay I was bitten by some sort of insect, the hotel were certain that it would be mosquito bites, however the number and type of bite seemed to by similar to bed bugs.
