Attic room
Location of thr hotel was good. Right next to cathedral. Bells woke you at 7.00 each morning! Room (no 7) was an attic room but after climbing a spiral staircsse, going along an outside verandah and then up more stairs, you then unlock to find more stairs up to the room. Very dangerous for anyone with mobility or sight problems.Room extremely cramped, which we didnt mind, but access to the bathroom was limited by those stairs. One false move and you could fall down them! Breakfast was good.

Amazing location on Cathedeal Square. Helpful and friendly staff always happy to assist. Buffet breakfast has a great choice of foods & breakfast room overlooks square below. Room was clean and comfortable. Thought it could be noisy due to location but it wasn't.

Can highly recommend the Hotel Cathedrale Strasbourg with its beautiful decor. We recently stayed here as the anchoring point for our long awaited post-COVID holiday! The absolute plus features of the hotel are the staff: front desk people available 24/7 and are friendly, competent and helpful. Cleaners are friendly, quick, work around your schedule. The staff/hosts in the welcoming breakfast room are also great. Food available is plentiful and varied including eggs, local meats and cheeses, wide variety of local bread and pastries, and jams, juices, and a good variety of hot drinks. As young seniors the stairs to the 1st floor elevator to the rooms were not an issue. (This might be hard for guests with limited mobility.) We signed up for a double room which worked for us but if you want the space of a North American room, you might feel cramped. There is limited vehicular traffic in the square and taxi service is not easy. We used local transportation to get around - a couple of blocks away, the trams are frequent, reliable and it is fairly easy to get to and from the train station and other sites. To our delight, the hotel was located on the main square right opposite the tremendous Strasbourg Cathedrale. The architecture, astronomical clock, ringing bells, tours, pilgrims, enhanced the striking presence inside and outside the church. There are many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance and the tourist bureau is also right on the square. Enjoy!

QUIRKY HOTEL IN GREAT LOCATION AND OLD BUILDING
You can't beat the location, right across from the entrance to the Cathedral. The hotel is in a very old building and they have done a good job of updating over time. Our attic room had a flight of stairs inside the door to the room and had a level above that. Service was good, cleanliness generally good, but there was a lot of sandy debris on the bedcover when we arrived - I assume because the windows had been left open. We cleaned it off and it did not show up again. Would stay there again, but you do have to be a bit adventurous.

Excellent location. Externals look very good. Staff pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately the floor of the room was dirty, the heating did not reduce with the thermostat. We had a bath but the plug didn't seal properly and a shower attachment that didnt fit the shower rail. Also description of large double bedfor cosy room is misleading. Standard size double which we did not want

Situated in an amazing area in front of the Christmas Msrket. We had a view from our room of the Cathedral and it was lovely. The church bells start ringing pretty early in the morning but it didn’t bother us and was rather calming. Wonderful property and the staff super nice

Loved our stay here on the opening weekend of the Christmas markets. Couldnt wish for a better location. The building and rooms are quirky and have character. Room we had was the basic I think. Enough space for what it was used for and the bathroom was fresh and a good size. Considering the location we were never troubled by any noise. Staff were pleasant and helpful too. Thank you for a great stay.
