We were the only guests in the place. I understand why. Looked like mold in the shower. Awful smell. Big bright green exit sign INSIDE our room. Street level window with a broken lock. Straight curtain on a bow window. A fan that was so filthy it the fan intake was caked with dirt. Etc., etc., etc.

Very loud music until the pub below closed at 11pm
The floor in the bathroom was extremely dirty and the whole bathroom smelled of drains, which seeped into the room.
The room was still under construction with bare render on the ceiling, no lampshades.
The main door did not lock properly and could be pushed open easily, very unsafe!
In need of new pillows and a better detergent, the bedding was smelly.

Enticingly advertises itself as “Stratford’s Best Kept Secret” offering “luxury en-suite accommodation”. The reality is terrifyingly different.
To reach the rooms you must pass through a pub, running a gauntlet of drunks to reach a rear yard full of smokers, over flowing ashtrays and bins. The listing showed the yard with a fire pit and rattan furniture. None of this was present.
The accommodation lobby area houses a builder’s sack full of lime plaster and abandoned furniture. The stairs and handrail to upstairs were filthy and worn.
The room smelled musty. The furniture was dirty and dusty and the side of the bed stained. The shower was encrusted with black mould. The last occupant’s half used shower gel bottle was left. The disgusting view from our room included a flat roof complete with soiled linen and abandoned plastic trunking.
What followed made things worse. The pub was blasting music until 12:30 am. Do consider stay here if lying in bed and hearing a downstairs sing along to “Is this the way to Amarillo” at just gone midnight is your thing. The floor of the room vibrated from the excessive noise levels. When the music stopped it was replaced with the sounds of bawling drunks hurling abusive language around, and the sound of glass bottle bins being emptied.
We live too far from Stratford to have left early, so had to stay. My wife was left in tears and our daughter described it as the most frightening place she has ever stayed.
Travelled from Telford to celebrate our 25th anniversary, Went to check in, no knowledge of any booking! Being a bank holiday weekend there was no where else to stay unless we were willing to pay £350+ for one night, although Trevor tried to get us somewhere else to stay but with no avail.
This was the worst place I have ever stayed. I would have given it zero stars if I could. Scary, old, mouldy, horrid. We left without staying and found a different hotel.
Stayed in room 7 for 1 night. Location is excellent & close to everything.
Room needs investment & cleaning standards simply aren't good enough. See photos of mould in the bathroom & shower.
Shower mixer tap was broken so had to fetch the manager to adjust it. New bathroom urgently needed.
At £80 room only it isn't worth the money as only hostal standard. Great location though so investment could really help.
Bathroom was absolutely disgusting.black mold all around the shower.key for room was allocated to a family.who walked into our room whilst we were there.we where in a state of undress.when the guy walked in.so not impressed.will never stay there again.
Very convenient in the middle of Stratford Upon Avon. 10min easy walk from train station. Friendly staff. Comfy room and bed. Stairs are steep so if you have mobility restrictions could be a little awkward but not many steps and I had no issue with it. Some noise in the morning around 7.30am with keg delivery for the pub downstairs which woke me but if you're an early riser that wouldn't be an issue and was niyand peaceful the rest of the time. Overall an excellent stay and I'll be back!
It was fun standing in the old pub, it was exactly what we thought it would be. Perfect great location.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Not what I expected from photos.
Bed was comfortable linen and towels clean. There was no hot water to shower but was sorted for next day. Tv did t work and no assistance given or option to change rooms even though we checked on line and hotel not full
There is not parking on site, the picture of the beer garden is not accurate it was rather grubby.
Internet access was good.
Photos on Hotels.com deceiving. We were not expecting deluxe accommodations but bathroom shower mold and mildew. Room was on ground level with a window on the street without security bars so I’d window was opened anyone could climb in. Being summer we needed ventilation as there was no AC. Fan provided was inadequate and filthy.
This was more like a youth hostel than “luxury accommodation “ quoted on their sign.

You get what you pay for!?!
Tired room with no working tv, lumpy pillows but it was cheap!
I know it's a 500 year old inn, and that explains a lot of its quirks. But large amounts of black mold in every corner of the shower upon checking in isn't related to the building age. Some shower spray would help that. And there's WiFi, but we couldn't access it from inside our room for more than a few seconds at a time. I wouldn't stay again. At least it was pretty cheap.

As a solo traveller for 1 night, it was ok for the price . I was in a single room which was clean with all that I required. My main concern was the noise from outside ( nothing to do with The Queens Head or customers ) . I was in room 5 at the back of the building which adjoins the Bellcourt entertainment complex and it was quite noisy at times throughout the night .
On entering you see a good bar and eating area (kitchen was closed during our stay) but the location near the end of the High Street put many of the towns other pubs and eateries close to the hotel. Car parking was at the NCP just around the back. As to be expected in such an old building, it had many quirky features, but the room had everything we needed and we got a few good nights sleep.

The room and especially the bathroom needs refurbishing. The staff is friendly and very helpful, really can’t fault them. Hotel in a fantastic location, just a short walk to anywhere you want to go.
