This is more like a fishing cabin and not of the standard required for a holiday rental and especially not at the price. It is worth noting that the first image on the listing is NOT this property which caused us some confusion. This is a tiny one up, one down cottage in the middle of a row, the others still being renovated. The owner lives on site, which while we have no issue with, we didn't know.
The yard is a mess with rubble and building materials lying around (including broken glass). Property backs onto a train line which isn't loud but not suitable for children.
The property itself is tiny. Steep and very narrow staircase not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Kitchen is very old and shabby, although cooker is new and washer/drier very much appreciated.
The decor is frankly terrible with every surface a different colour and in poor condition. Paint flaking off walls, cracks in plaster, lino lifting and shabby carpet. With a little work this could be a wonderful property. It desperately needs a good paint in a neutral colour, neutral sheets/towels, and far fewer knickknacks that make it feel like you are invading someone's home. Ok for a fishing retreat. Not ok for a family.
