R&S Lakeside Cottage Beautiful Large Sand Beach Door County Limestone Fireplace

Our Cottage is only 10 minutes from downtown Sturgeon Bay and yet offers the Cozy atmosphere of a one lane rustic road and friendly neighbors. Our Sand beach is Awesome, Great for those morning walks to watch the sunrise with your pet and when the full Moon rises at dusk . This area has been a favorite for tourists for almost 100 years and they keep coming back sometimes permanently. A short walk to to the pierhead Lighthouse and just down the road from The Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Land Trust hiking area with excellent walking trails. Pet friendly with 2 bedrooms with queen-size beds, 2 couches and a rollaway bed comfortable for 4 adults and 2 children. We have Central Air conditioning and heating for year round comfort. The inside of the cottage has been completely updated keeping with the Historical character of the original Cottage using locally grown lumber whenever possible. There is wood burning fireplace for those cool nights, a screen room off the kitchen and a small front patio out front to relax outdoors.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cottage, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a DVD player is provided for your entertainment.

Can't wait to go back!
My husband and I decided to get away for a few days so I jumped on VRBO and found this property...what a find! We arrived in the evening and the place was all lit up and welcoming. We headed to the beach in plain view and just across the one lane road. The view of the beach from the cabin was awesome! The cabin was extremely clean, fireplace was set up and ready to light and we used it eery night! The kitchen was very well equipped. We enjoyed meeting our host, Russ as well as his wonderful dog Dixie who we played with on the beach. We enjoyed day trips to different Door County towns, state and county parks and more. The location of the cabin is secluded but not far from anything. It was chilly but did not keep us from enjoying the beach! There was really no cell service at the cabin, however there was a landline we had access to. We did have great WIFI so we could text some from our computers. By no means did that in anyway dampen the trip :-) The only down was that we didn't stay longer :-) We are already planning our next trip and can not wait to once again stay at this lovely property! If you want a place that has everything you need, beautiful atmosphere, fun things to do in the area and a lovely host....this is your place!!!

Beautiful views and beach
Great place to stay. Everything we needed, comfortable, clean and amazing views out the front window. We enjoyed having meals or coffee at the table by the front window that looks out to the beach or taking a walk along the shore and enjoying the views. Nice front and back yard area for us and our dog too.

Amazing Beachside Location - Super Clean!
I just wanted to share a few words about the amazing time we had at this location. First, the location of the cottage is amazing - steps away from a beautiful beach and a great section of coastline. We were there at the end of what I would call the “tourist season” and we had the beach all to ourselves! The overall condition of the cottage was excellent, and the cleanliness was second to none.. The host did a great job providing lots of little creature comforts for us, and there wouldn’t be anything I could suggest to have had a more comfortable stay. This host is very pet friendly and we had a great time with our dog and letting him run up and down the coastline chasing birds! Communication with a host was excellent and at no time did we feel like there was an issue getting hold of him? Should we have any questions. I would highly recommend this losting and don’t have even the smallest amount of constructive criticism. We will definitely come back to this location again!

A PIECE OF HEAVEN
It was everything and more. Restful, relaxing, pet friendly, clean, cozy. We had everything we needed. Stunning views of the lake. Beautiful clean beach. We were lucky enough to see many beautiful sun rises and the harvest moon rising over the lake. Russ was a terrific host and even shared the times the moon would rise our entire stay, so we wouldn't miss it. Hated to leave. We will be back.

WONDERFUL!
This was a perfect place! Everything made us feel like “home” with location, location, location! So many kind and thoughtful touches all around the home. Everything was comfortable and sunlight. The view from the front room is spectacular; the overall space including a back screened porch makes the home feel “open”. Everything from brochures about local places of interest to ample bottled water put a focus on the “guests.” Importantly, the home was spotlessly clean. We were grateful to stay at Russ and Stacy’s cottage for several days with our recently adopted dog where we enjoyed walking the beach with our dog in the morning and evening. This was a very enjoyable vacation for us! Also a great doggie park, Shiloh Road Dog Park, was only about 10 minutes away for our dog to run her energy off with some new puppy pals.

Perfect getaway
We had a wonderful visit. The view from the cottage couldn't be better and we took daily beach walks right outside. Everything was clean. I highly recommend staying if you want a quiet beachside vacation.

Happiest place on earth!
Sorry, Walt Disney but this is the happiest place on earth! The cottage is amazing, cozy and peaceful. Comfortable beds, a great view, a cozy fireplace...what more could you ask for? Though there are other cottages/homes nearby, you will never know it. It's so peaceful. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves. There are numerous hiking trails nearby so you can explore if you want or just sit back with the windows open and listen to the waves crash. Get up early to catch the sunrise over the lake. It is absolutely breathtaking! The cottage and beach are so nice, you almost feel guilty leaving to go anywhere else! The hosts are the best and if you're lucky, you might get a visit from Dixie, the owner's golden retriever. We were their very first booking at this property last year and this was our second year there. We've already secured our spot for next year! If you're even thinking of booking this place, what are you waiting for?! You won't be disappointed!!!confortable

Awesome location and cabin
Loved staying at this very comfortable cabin. The fully screened in porch is great for escaping the bugs. The beach a few steps away, very friendly hosts, quiet neighborhood. Still close to all the other attractions of Door County. Definitely staying here again.

First Stay in Door County WI
Our family of four rented this wonderful cabin for our first trip to Door County. The property was comfortable, clean, charming, and the location/ view were amazing. The owners made us feel very welcome and they thought of every detail- right down to dry firewood for the beach fire pit. We will be back!

Absolutely Wonderful!
Wonderful lake front cottage with beautiful view of Lake Michigan. A+++ cleanliness and comfort. Beds were fantastic! Communication with owner, Russ, was excellent and he is very attentive and available without being intrusive. He is also very understanding - Lol - Thank You Russ for being so gracious with us.

Our family of four had the most delightful and relaxing stay in Sturgeon Bay! The rental is steps from the lake and we were so calmed to wake up every day to the endless blue of the water. Perfect getaway
From the time we pulled in the cabin driveway, we were “home”. My husband is working in Mount Pmeasant, WI and our Best friends from Louisiana came you and wanted a great place to stay. The Cabin had everything we needed except a washer/dryer. Right across from the property, we had access to the beach area. Even though it rained every day, we had a great time looking for and painting rocks. Mr. Russ has amazing communication and We highly recommend this place.

Great Place to Relax and Explore
This place was fantastic. Perfect for a long weekend getaway. The location is great - unencumbered views of Lake Michigan with about a mile of unpopulated beach for my wife, my dog and me to explore. New Year getaway
We loved the place cabin and the view. House is very cozy and we had amazing time. Morning view from the front of the lake is very relaxing. The bonefire at the beach great. Also pets freindly is a thanks you my dog had a blast. We are definitely coming back during summer to experience more of the area aslo to spent good time at the cabin.

Long weekend getaway with my 20 yr old son
Usually my son and I go camping the last weekend in august, and have some quiet time to hang out and chat. Life got in the way of it this year, so we booked this lovely accommodation. What a nice relaxing place, it was a bit of a sleet storm going on for part of it, but that is not unexpected in December :) We cooked and played games and relaxed, and we could not have asked for a better spot to do this in. My wife wants to come up with the daughters in the near future. Thanks again, I would recommend this property highly!

I really loved this place. Roomy, clean, had every comfort. Comfy beds.. Beach right out the door. Enjoyed my coffee with the sunrise. I will go back here. Only downside was the water in cabin. Kinda stinky. But not a deal breaker for the peaceful place. And best part we were able to take our loved pup!!!!
