Across the Nohi Bus Station and Takayama Station
The Nohi Bus Terminal and the Takayama Station are literally just across the street. So convenient. Less than a kilometer away from the Morning Market area and the Old Town. There is a Family Mart and other restaurants nearby.

Good hotel
Room was perfectly clean and spacious. The bathroom was somewhat cramped but serviceable. The beds and pillows were quite uncomfortable. There were no noise problems, staff are friendly and the location is located near the station and the main street. There is also a public onsen bath which I did not experience.

Hotel that's literally facing the train station, despite that it's not noisy. There aren't a great deal of trains that go through the area. Some shops relatively close by, though a good 10 mins walk to where the action is. Hotel itself is nice and clean and friendly staff. Dropped off my baggage as I arrived a good few hours before checkin. No hesitation staying here again.

Excellent location and staff. Very friendly. The hotel itself is dated. Feels like you got transported back to 1970s which is kinda cool but just expect this. Tattoos not allowed in public bath. Not a bad thing - just wanted to share for others to know.

A convenient and lovely place to stay. Directly across from the train and bus stations, walking distance to the historic district (5-10min), many restaurants nearby. Rooms are simple but clean and modern. Gorgeous public bath for guests, and the breakfasts are delicious, plentiful, and feature a portion of a local delicacy, hoba-miso. I had a very pleasant stay.

I had a solo couple nights stay at the hotel. The bed and pillow provided are comfortable enough. As with most business hotels, there isn't a whole lot of room to spread out, but the room is nonetheless clean and functional. Likewise, the bathroom is small, but the second floor bath house is of a decent size and comfortable. The hotel is located close to the Takayama JR Station and the bus terminal, which makes it a decent base for trips to the surrounding areas like Shirakawa-go and Oku Hida. It is also not too far of a walk from restaurants, shops and the old town of Takayama.

The building and facilities are pretty old. Everything is quite clean though. Staff speak basic English but aren't very helpful. The check-in process was much quicker than other Japanese hotels as the staff probably skipped explaining house rules in English. Instead there's a card they asked you to pay attention and read it later. Once during non-rush hour there's no one at the reception, I yelled for someone to come out from the back room. I heard the staff keep chatting and laughing and waited half a minute for a guy to come out. As I do know some Japanese, they did acknowledge my presence in Japanese in their chat and just left me waiting. It's pretty common in Japan to hear some sales/staff talking about you who presume you don't know their language. It's an okay experience, but certainly not great.

Great Location
Location excellent, across the road from the train station. Walk up the street from any cafes and restaurants, 10 mins you will arrive at main centre. Room very small as expected for Japan, cannot check in before 2pm. Coffee making in the room as is a fridge. Only one key allowed so a little difficult when one person leaves the room and has to take the key then no electricity or air conditioning (37deg outside). Bed is extremely hard like a board and up against a wall. Not real comfortable but fine for one night. Probably a bit on the high price side when we stayed, in comparison to other hotels we have stayed in.

The hotel is located across the street from the bus terminal and about 10 minutes walk to the tourist street (mostly closed when we were the between 5 PM and 10 PM). Not much to do without taking the bus for tours We took the bus to the snow walls. The bed and pillows were very firm, room was small (normal in Japan). Room looked cleaned but a hair was found stuck on the bathroom wall.

good location across from train/bus station room small but clean, room amenities good. things we noticed: toilet seat not heated (may not be important, but you notice it in the winter). can not direct direction of shower head well. on second day of a 3 day stay someone else assigned to our room, luckily we were in room when they tried to enter (their key card worked fine, deadbolt didn't prevent door from opening) cleared up misunderstanding with front desk staff, but made us a little uncomfortable about room security
