Nice hotel, great location
First, be aware that there is no elevator, and there's about 50 steps to the 3rd floor rooms. Other than that, a modest hotel in a great, quiet location in Tallinn's Old Town. Easy walking to restaurants and sights. One nice thing: they'll cook eggs to order for breakfast, which I enjoyed a lot.

This was a really nice stay! Great location, the staff were very friendly and helpful with everything! Bed was clean and comfortable, roomy suite, and the sauna was lovely! Only downside was there was not a shower, the attachment in the bathtub required you to be sitting down, which turned out slightly inconvenient for us.

Staff at the hotel were very friendly and attentive. They took great care to find a suitable room for my wife who has mobility difficulties. All the staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and had a great choice of options to choose from.

Charming hotel near City Hall
Staff was amazing. Went out of their way to be helpful. Room overlooked the courtyard so it was quiet at night. My only complaints are that WiFi didn’t work in our room so we had to go to the lobby to use it, and that our room had 5 stairs between the bathroom and wardrobe area up from the sleeping area . Location was perfect- walked everywhere. Good breakfast. I recommend!

The Merchants House Hotel is a beautiful historic building retaining plenty of its original 14th C features of beamed rooms, stone walls and painted ceilings within a modernised context while retaining its resplendent old-world charm. The staff are all super friendly and go above and beyond expectations. We loved staying here, and when we return to Tallinn, we plan to stay here again. Its location in the centre of the old town, just a minute's walk from the Raekoja Plats, is super convenient for accessing galleries, monuments, places of interest, and shops. Everything is so accessible. We had a wonderful stay. Many thanks to everyone who made it so.

Amazing location in Old Town. Walkable to ALL of the must visit attractions in the city. Lots of food and drink options around. Staff was awesome, always willing to answer questions. The opportunity to use their Sauna really helped relax the tired legs after a long days walk.

My husband and I are both in our 80's and being on the 3rd floor without an elevator wasn't too much of a problem except that the control for the air conditioner was kept at the front desk (they only had one). They didn't seem to think that it would be a problem for us after having walked all day to have to make an extra trip up and down the stairs to borrow the control. The location of the hotel is about as good as you can get in the Old Town.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and genuine friendliness by the staff. Their impeccable service made my stay incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms were cozy and well-maintained, reflecting the care and attention to detail that Ercant's House is known for. Every morning, I looked forward to the delightful breakfast spread. Location-wise, Merchant's House couldn't be better situated. Nestled in the heart of the old city, it offered convenient access to all the major attractions, restaurants, and shops. Overall, my stay at Merchant's House was exceptional. The combination of excellent service, a friendly and attentive staff, delicious breakfast, and an ideal location makes it the perfect choice for anyone visiting Tallinn. An ideal location in the city centre just off the square. Friendly staff who were very helpful especially considering my lost lugagge--great tips for affordable places to shop outside the tourist areas. Generally clean. I'm sorry I didn't manage to use the sauna!
