As a solo woman traveler, I felt INCREDIBLY safe the entire visit. Angela especially was so nice to connect to, helped provide me with whatever I needed. The location was PRIME, you couldn't have asked for an amazing location midway walk to everything I needed for my 3 nights. Up the block at the top of the hill were 3 exceptional restaurants seconds away which enhanced my stay. I fell asleep right away- I will advise the room I stayed in with the tub publically threw me a curveball but I adjusted quickly and glad I was traveling solo as it may not be to everyones taste. I'd recommend this property highly. I didn't end up doing the breakfast at the hotel as there were many coffee shops nearby and I opted a different route- thank you merchant house for a memorable stay in a historic space !

Renovated old merchants house, my room was clean with view into the hotel courtyard. Fine for coming back to amd sleeping but not ideal if you're stuck inside if raining. Very very conveniently located just off the Main Square. Breakfast very good! All in all, happy, decent hotel, value for money. 24hrs reception desk too.

This boutique hotel was fabulous. Every single staff member we encountered was so helpful, friendly and kind. The location is absolutely perfect. The breakfast selection was ample and their omelettes are seriously one of the best I’ve ever eaten. I would advise though that anyone with severe accessibility needs may struggle here. There are no lifts in the hotel and therefore the bedrooms and breakfast lounge are only accessible via stairs. We honestly loved our stay here and would return to beautiful Tallinn and the Merchants Hotel in a heartbeat. Thank you to everyone for making our stay here so memorable.

Property was easy to locate and located on a quiet street with excellent old town access. There are many dining options and shopping close. Many attractions within walking distance. The staff was very friendly and informative. The room was well appointed, has a personal coffee maker, but lacks an electric hot water kettle.

Great location, but room for improvement

First the good points: great location and very attentive staff; Helga was especially helpful and friendly. The breakfast offering, which we didn't take, looked good. Now the not so good: some floor tiles in the bedroom (room 106) are loose, a non-functioning lamp in the bathroom (despite bringing this to their attention on day two of our four day stay), room cleanliness only average (there was a large paper clip in the centre of the floor throughout our stay) and the hotel courtyard was a mess (they told my wife that it was to be cleaned for June, which I just cannot understand as cleanliness is a year-round necessity). We were offered an alternate room, however this was upstairs and, with no lift and a long walk to it, it just wasn't an option for me.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The friendly staff took our suitcases to our room & explained what to see in Tallinn. Our room was huge & the bed very very comfy. Breakfast was amazing with vast array on offer

This is in the historic town very close to the main square in a traditionalhouse converted to a hotel. Excellent accommodations, not your typical cookie cutter hotel room. Clean comfortable and affordable. Wonderful.

Pulling a suitcase across the cobblestones was annoying, so advance warning would have been nice. Being on the top floor with said suitcases was also challenging. I loved that this was an old house but i could not get any other information annoy it - like an original floor plan. I loved Tallinn.

Wonderful modest but spacious room. Comfortable and clean. A little threadbare around the edges but nothing wrong where it counts: great value for location and everything you need. Very pleasant staff.

The hotel is in the town centre near shops and restaurants. The reception staff are very lovely and attentive. The only downside has been the bathtub which did not have any curtains and therefore it was inevitable to splash water all around the bathroom which made the floor hazardous.

I think my favorite part about this hotel is how 'Bed and Breakfast' it feels, while still having all the luxury of a high end hotel. The room was spacious and had everything you need, so you could hide out if you wanted, however, head into the reception area, amd there youll find social areas, games, a cafe and bar, as well as a wonderful underground breakfast all staffed by really friendly and sweet staff.

The location is superb in the middle of Tallinn old town and a few step away from the Christmas market. Even though the Christmas market is not so good. The room needs renovation and the carpet feel old and stuffy. Also the bathroom is dark, and the floor is flooded when showering.
