Good location but subpar accommodations

The receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was in a great location on a lake and right near downtown Mount Dora, however, the lighting in the room was very poor, there was a sag in the mattress, and the room had a strong musty odor. While I knew this hotel was “historic”, I didn’t realize how much the accommodations need to be updated when I booked my stay.

Excellent location I loved Mount Dora! The hotel is very beautiful and historical. The room was a bit small but very clean. The bed was ok but more on the firm side. The view by the lake was all worth it. Although a bit overpriced but overall a nice unique experience.

The Lakeside Inn is a place for those who appreciate historical places. Beautiful grounds, pretty lake view, friendly staff, serene, walkable to other town shops, restaurants, and quaint coffee shops/bakeries. Full capacity, but not overwhelming - high end, yet reasonable.

Having access to the lake and downtown was the reason we stayed here. Rooms and property were exceptional. We were not as happy about the choices for breakfast in the dining room.
