Campbell Apartment - an apartment that sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom

Campbell Apartment on the edge of the village of Taynuilt, is a lovely holiday home to return to and relax in after an active day discovering this historic and beautiful area of Highland Scotland. This delightful self-catering apartment, set on the first floor of the wonderful Lonan House, has been furnished to the highest standard and boasts fabulous views to the mountain peaks of Ben Cruachan. The beautifully presented king bedroom with its smart wooden bed, sumptuous mattress and fine linen makes this a perfect hideaway for romantic breaks and honeymoon couples. The fully equipped modern and stylish kitchen is great for those who enjoy cooking and the cosy sitting room is the perfect retreat for quietly relaxing into a deep sofa with a good book while warming your feet in front of the log burner.
Lonan House enjoys a glorious Scottish setting with stunning views to Ben Cruachan, Argyll’s highest mountain. Designed by Sir Robert Lorimer and built in 1906, this impressive Edwardian mansion is full of romantic highland character and retains many of its original Arts & Crafts features. This is a wonderful holiday destination for dog owners and guests are invited to enjoy the large surrounding landscaped garden, complete with croquet lawn and pond, extended grounds and woodland which give a wonderful sense of space and freedom. Deer are often seen grazing around the house and this magical spot is home to amazing wildlife including red squirrels, otters and pine marten. Keen birdwatchers will delight at the huge variety of birds including the chance to see golden and white-tailed sea eagles or the beautiful black grouse. There are endless walks to be discovered right from the doorstep and many wonderful panoramic views across the glen to Mull in the West, Loch Etive in the North and Loch Awe in the East. Glen Lonan is part of National Cycle Route 78, The Caledonia Way, stretching 234 miles through stunning Scottish countryside.

Quiet days can be spent relaxing in the surrounding peace, or the nearby harbour town of Oban offers a good range of shops, local attractions and excellent restaurants, many of which serve freshly caught seafood. During the summer the town comes alive with a host of festivals and ceilidhs, attracting bagpipers, highland dancers and traditional musicians from all over the world. There are numerous exciting day trips to be enjoyed including ferries to the beautiful inner Hebridean islands including Mull and Tiree.

The village of Taynuilt is within walking distance (1 mile) and has a train station with regular trains to Glasgow, Oban and Dalmally. Also, it has a well stocked grocery shop, butchers, post office and tea-room. There is a nine-hole course for the golf enthusiast and lovely walks along the piers at Loch Etive.

Fabulous Apartment in a Fabulous Location
The apartment comprised of large fitted kitchen / dining room, well fitted with a bonus of washing machine and dishwasher. The bathroom was very spacious and modern. The bedroom contained plenty of storage and a King Size Bed, finally the lounge was very well appointed, spacious and comfortable, with two comfortable sofas and a huge television.

Beautiful and quiet grounds and house. The rental unit is one of several in the converted house. The unit is very nice as well. Lots of windows. Good sized rooms. Complete kitchen. The owner greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the property, and gave us pointers for site seeing in the surrounding area. Very helpful.

Malcolm and Elaine did everything to make us feel welcome including a lovely welcome pack for us and our doggie. The apartment was beautiful with a very well equipped kitchen and excellent WiFi.The grounds were lovely with a beautiful pond and we did manage to spot red deer. Well placed for touring the surrounding countryside. A nice escape from covid 19 in our own space for 5 nights and very doggie friendly Would definitely return again
