To remain a pet friendly resort, pets that are aggressive towards other dogs, cats or people, will NOT be allowed. Pet owners assume ALL liability for their pets. We do have cats on our property so if your dog is aggressive or likes to chase cats, please leash them at all times or do not bring them. We love our pets too. Aggressive animals will be asked to leave immediately.

All pets are required to be current on shots and must be protected with Flea and Tick medicine BEFORE you arrive. If you forget, we do have some for sale in the Outpost. All pets must be crated if left unattended in the units. No exceptions please! For your convenience, we do rent crates of all sizes for $8 per visit (not per night) but it is BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket). Please call us in advance if you will need a crate in your unit. Please note, we will automatically charge your credit card for any damages done to the units, furnishings, linens or towels. PLEASE help us remain a pet friendly resort and just let us know if your pet had a bad day and accidentally chewed the towel or corner of the rug. We ask only that you reimburse us for the cost of the damaged item.

Even if your pet typically doesn't jump on the furniture, PLEASE bring thick blankets to cover the furniture with anyway! This goes a long way to helping the cleaning people get all the dog hair up before the next guests arrive. Thanks!

Impression was just as pictures, very remote, very cozy and welcoming. Everything was set out of what we can use and how to. The cabin was a perfect getaway. The only thing I could think of is the lady bugs, there was quite a lot upstairs by the bed as well as a bunch of dead lady bugs on the floor under the bed.

Everything you'll need at Shawnee National Forest!
HIGHLY recommend this property! My partner and I arrived at Timber Ridge during a week that the Garden of the Gods Recreation Area was closed due to construction. We arrived at the check-in business and quickly saw that they had instructions on alternative ways to access the area. The staff is very knowledgeable of their surroundings, and the information included in the cabin's tourism binder gave you pretty much everything you needed to know about trails, restaurants, and other landmarks to explore during your stay. As for the cabin, it was stocked with everything you would need to be comfortable and take care of yourself during your stay. The kitchen has a wide array of utensils, you could easiy bring groceries and feed yourself or grill outside and make sides. There were cleaning supplies, plenty of sheets and towels, and options to keep yourself either cool or warm. Hot water and strong wifi to use the internet or work the Roku TV. The layout is very intuitive, plenty of space for a couple! As for the service, it was superb. On our first night, we found a wasp nest on the wonderful porch swing by the front door. Once we called, it took less than an hour for them to be in touch, send one of the owners to the cabin, treat the wasps with soapy water, and get rid of the nest altogether. He was also extremely friendly! Overall, an excellent experience that we WILL repeat to see more of Shawnee National Forest.

Beautiful place
The cabin was so clean and fully stocked with all the items they said would be there. Absolutely not a gnat/ mosquito or ticks in sight. The water was hot and the pressure was great! I’d recommend this place 100%. Spending our 10 year anniversary here was the best thing ever. Even sitting out for a fire no bugs! And it’s august! Check in was a breeze. I can’t vouch more for this property! I hope others have a wonderful stay like we did.

Peaceful
Cabin is exactly as advertised. No traffic noise, very peaceful and super clean. The only issue that arise was a water line break (rentor had no control over) occured but repaired in a reasonable time. Rentor offered other properties for showers or for remainder of stay. They are very responsive, communicative and super nice people. Overall, loved the cabin.

Hickory Hollow tiny cabin
The cabin is quaint and designed like a tiny house. There was a queen bed in the loft. The stairs to the loft were actual stairs. It was easy to climb up. The ceiling was high in the miiddle so we could stand. The bathroom had a good shower without walls. So plenty of room. I think it would be beautiful in the fall. Cicadas were singing and flying around. We had a good time. We would recommend it to others.

Charming mini cabin
This cabin was just right for my husband and I. It had all that we needed to cook and enjoy a campfire. It is located on a property with several other cabins and a community area with cornhole and tether ball. Everything was clean. I would recommend to a couple who wanted neighbors and a sweet community to share the evening with.

Get Away
It was a great location, very quiet, tucked in the forest. The cabin was "tiny" but well laid out. The furnishings were nice except for the futon. It was the only piece of furniture to sit on and the cushion was very soft and worn. It was uncomfortable and hard to get up from.

Hickory Hollow Log Cabin
We understand that we were in the woods and to expect bugs, but there were ants/spiders/stink bugs inside everywhere...in bathroom, kitchen, stairs. We've stayed in cabins in the woods before, but this was awful. Kept zippers closed and everything else in the fridge. The cabin was on such a slant (front to back) it was disorientating. It was like the cabin was put in place and a level wasn't even looked at. There was a used condom wrapper on the floor by the bed...I think that says enough about how clean they make it. The young girl at check in couldn't tell me why both of us had to sign a safety waiver to stay at the cabin. The bed is in a VERY tight fit in the loft. My wife is 5'2" and nearly concussed herself on roof beams so I am guessing that is what the safety waiver is for, or maybe if you react to a bug bite (there were lots of bugs)? Area was remote which we didn't mind and scenery was beautiful. We even had deer visit us next to the cabin, but we will look at different cabins next time.

We were visiting family and sight-seeing the Garden of the Gods. This cabin was perfect for 2 nights for myself and dog. ***they state this, but I overlooked it, but check in is at the outpost. Make sure to enter that into GPS. I lost service and didn't pre plan that. They were amazing with answering and giving directions.

Change to The Chestnut
We had the most relaxing few days! Just 3 of us so the house was nice and roomy for us. No hassle check-in, and everything was very clean. The floor in the kitchen was a bit wavy - but we got used to that. The location was just right for us - 2 miles from Garden of the Gods and a couple of trails that were beautiful. Very few people visiting this time of year, so it was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you to Andrew for being so accommodating! We made a change from a cabin just the day before. We were so glad he had the Chestnut house available. It was perfect for us.
