This hotel is a repurposed renovated historic courthouse. The rooms in this hotel are amazing! Very large with 12 ft ceilings and very large windows. Beds are very comfortable. Amazingly quiet! I had great sleep here. Very good amenities - fridge, coffee maker, AC, terrific ventilation, excellent bathroom. My main complaint with the hotel is its breakfast service - very limited, the same every day, and they don't make enough coffee. 2 days in a row only one hour into breakfast service and both urns of coffee are empty. The staff need to literally just check periodically to see if they need to make more. The only other issue is that the staff don't seem to clean the lawn and grounds - there were items of garbage that remained on the front lawn for our entire 3 day stay - get on it people! If these 2 items are addressed, then I would give this place a solid 10 out of 10 rating.

This was my second time staying here. It's a lovely, comfortable hotel walking distance from downtown and waterfront. Definitely recommend.

When renovating this old building there was not enough effort in sound proofing the floors. We could hear every movement in the room directly above us including hearing going to the washroom. Nice having access to coffee and juice in the morning No pen in the room or scratch pad to write information down

On my way home from a Superior Circle Tour, my family and I stopped at this hotel. I had booked ahead and paid a premium for a lake view room. I have a service dog and we were put in the basement in Room 8005. It was dank and the only thing we saw from the window was the front lawn above. This gets worse. At 6am the breakfast service began and there were 3 hours of loud footsteps and scraping of chairs over our heads. I'm not sure if we were assigned the dungeon room because we had a service dog who, by the way, was non shedding and crate trained. I won't be returning here. It was very poor value and my much needed night sleep was cut short by the morning noise.

The rooms at the courthouse were renovated, quite spacious, and even on the luxurious side. The location is close enough for a quick walk down to the lakefront. There’s a beautiful view of the lake from the courthouse. The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive to our needs. I definitely would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Staff were doing their best however, they were at times overwhelmed. For example, calls to the front desk unanswered, issues with the TV took a while for someone to respond, kitchen staff were overwhelmed and many guest would just leave their dirty dishes and the sole person in charge of the kitchen could not keep up with cooking, washing dishes and busing tables. Clean and charming hotel with great potential. 24 hour fitness room was closed at 8pm even though it said 24 hours. These issues did not hinder my overall satisfaction with the hotel as I had a lovely stay.

We were first given a room where the a/c didn't work. Staff agreed to let us move to a different room, but the footsteps from the unit above were so loud due to squeaky floors and poor sound insulation that I couldn't sleep.

The hotel itself is very nice. Room spacious, clean. I was very happy to see GF bread offered with breakfast. First time I have stayed at a hotel with GF bread on the table. The exterior of the hotel was quite littered- poorly trimmed. Bad first impression. A good idea for any hotel would be a TV channel listing alphabetically - not numerically. If I knew the channel number I would not be looking it up.
