Very good

I thought tapping with card to go to my card in an elevator is safe. Also the laundry room in the 1st floor was pretty convenient, since I stayed for 9 mights, which is extremely plus. And I mistakenly booked a smoking room, but your staff switched it to non-smoking, and I really appreciate it. Definitely, I will try to book a room in the future when I come to Shinjuku. But next time, I want to have a little bigger room if I stay long as I did in this time.
Walking distance to restaurants, park. Staff was very helpful. Room was outdated, no drawers to put away our clothes, live out of our suitcases. Bathroom was very small.
Rooms are extremely small compared to even a small American hotel. No space to keep luggage in your room. There is a room downstairs where you can put a cable around your luggage to lock it up. Bed is up against the wall so it’s inconvenient for 2 people in the room
Favorite part was the very small bathtub for a quick shower or soak
Bathroom floor is high. I hear neighbor stayers bang wall as I did just to open luggage or hang jackets. But room was clean, bed was comfortable. I had a nice day light from window. Hotel employees were nice and helped me a lot. Thank you.
The Shinjuku Washington hotel is within walking distance of major attractions like Kabukicho and Omoide Yokocho. If you've seen 'Midnight Diner' on Netflix, you'll walk right through the intersection that is in the opening credits to get to those places. The hotel is laid out kind of strangely in that the check-in is on the 3rd floor instead of the 1st floor. The automated elevators provides excellent security because your room key tells it what floor to go to.. the buttons for other floors will not work for you. The breakfast buffet is excellent if you like Japanese breakfast cuisine, though a little more expensive than going out to a cafe (but way more convenient). I had a double room to myself, which I liked. My friend had a single room, and he said it was a little claustrophobic. The bathroom had a Japanese furo in them, which was awesome. The only negative was that I got a lot of someone else's long hair on my things whenever I dropped something (like clothes) on the floor -- so don't drop anything on the floor!
Our first trip to Japan. This was an ideal place to call home for a few days.

Liked: Amenities
Great location but hotel needs work. There is no place to unpack. The room is a decent size so no reason they couldn't have some shelves or cupboards with a place to put your suitcase on top. Also the bathroom is cheap - like being in a camper - and smells a bit musty/moldy. Staff didn't speak much english and were totally inflexible. We stayed 4 nights and added a 5th. Had to check out; leave our suitcases in storage and check back in several hours later. Also no place to swap out books that you've finished reading.
The property is in a more business area of town, so it is generally quieter than the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Front desk staff are fine, not overly friendly, but helpful. Rooms are very small, but this is expected. Do not try to bring large suitcases. Amenities were helpful - razors, hairbrushes, etc.
Very cramped room and can only open the suitcase in the corridor . I think it is difficult for two persons sharing a room .
The shower is a bit strange , very big for the small tub . It fells easily .
Bed is comfort. I like the concept of getting extra pillow from the rack in each floor .
Mostly self service so not much staff interaction.
Quite a motel style.
