Do not book San Giorgio Hotel
I booked this hotel on May 17th and on October 13 I received an email from the hotel sayin they were overbooked they gave me the option to cancel they also said they would secure a room at another hotel. Since the timing was so close to our trip which is in a large cruise there was no good hotels available. Here is a copy of the email I received. In my opinion if you don’t book transportation from the airport from them they say they are overbooked then they accept bookings from those who want transportation from them. The hotel they put us in was horrendous I wouldn’t even rate it a one star. Why did it take them 5 months to realize they were overbooked.

We are writing this message as we are very sorry to inform you that there were an error in our room allocation/reservation system and on 21 October 2024 we are in an overbooking situation.
Please kindly note that we do not have any other rooms available, therefore we offer you the following options:
· to cancel your reservations free of charge as we are not in the conditions to honour the booking.
Or
· to accept the reallocations of your room in Hotel Mercure Sunbay Park - address Via Aurelia Sud, Km 68/750, 00053 Civitavecchia RM
