Quick Weekend Visit to Friendly B&B
Booked the week before for a 2 night short break at the end of the summer holidays. Very large family room was clean and tidy. Bath and shower room off that was good, spotlessly clean throughout. Furniture wardrobes flat packed and a bit wobbly. Reasonably comfortable main double/king size bed. The main room also had a double sofa bed but the cushion on that had seen better days. Adjoining room was also large and had 3 single divan beds. Both had flat screen TVs with standard freeview channels.
Breakfast was good. Help yourself to cereal and juice. Tea & coffee and cooked breakfast to order. Sausages a bit tough but the rest standard fried English breakfast.
Not a super sunny weekend but the room was boiling. It was above their indoor pool, and I suspect the heating boiler or pipes are adjacent that room. Also the chlorine smell was overpowering. You got used to it after a while and I suspect we will not be getting colds for a good couple of months. A fan and AC unit were provided. If the AC had an exhaust vent pipe kit that we could have put out the window, then it would have cooled down, but the cold air comes out the front with an equivalent amount of boiling hot air out the back straight into the room so effect is zero. A wedding on the Saturday night was noisy but the people were really friendly and the music was off at 11.30.

Great week away in Torquay at Red House Hotel!
A very friendly hotel. All staff were attentive and would go the extra mile to help.
The hotel itself was clean with a little scope for updating in places such as the gym.
Overall a great week spent here with 4 sharing a room (2 adults 2 children) with reasonable capacity to accommodate us all.
Very close proximity (10 minutes walk) to the sea front and beach. Town about 15 - 20 minutes walk.

Adequate one nighter
As a one night stop over this was adequate. We were in the attic room so plenty of stairs, however we were rewarded with a sea view.
With a full english breakfast thrown in and free parking it made good a value room in a typical charming old victorian converted house.

Does the job
Basic hotel in good location. Friendly staff. Could do with some modernisation.
This hotel is a lovely hotel that’s a 5minute walk to the beach. The rooms are spacious and the staff are lovely. Plenty of parking and although we didn’t get to use the facilities (outdoor and indoor pool) they looked clean and would of gone in if we had more time. Food was lovely would definitely come back.
Grandads 95th birthday treat! Nicely surprised with what a lovely little hotel this was, unbelievable price for the family room which was modern clean and spacious! Staff couldn’t of been more welcoming and helpful, will definitely return! Grandparents were well looked after and there was plenty to do for the kids and Adults too! 😃
The hotel staff were pleasant .the room eas dirty .thick dust on headboard.no bracket on the wall for shower head .no shower curtain .the dining room was dirty.the cups were stained
Great hotel - totally recommend it. Beautiful big rooms, super clean, great facilities and the staff are a real credit to the place - all at a very reasonable price. Also very well located for the riviera centre
Stayed overnight on way to Cornwall. No issues found. Room was clean and tidy. Quiet location with local shops nearby. A bus runs from outside that will get you into Tourquay easily.
When we arrived to my horror I was told I had booked two rooms instead of the one I required. The manager was fantastic and said he was happy to refund me for the room I didn't require. As I booked through Expedia I haven't resolved this issue just yet but I couldn't fault the hotel were great.
We very much enjoyed our stay and the pool was great for the children.
The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was nice and all the staff were friendly.
Would stay again.
The hotel has all the facilities stated but the whole hotel does need updating especially the bedrooms. Toilet lid came off, leak by toilet when flushed, curtain fell down. Could not stand up to use shower as bathroom had a sloping ceiling.
Lovely breakfast and pleasant staff.
We did book a quadruple room for space even though only 3 of us which we paid for before we arrived but were only offered a triple room as only 3 of us staying so am now looking for a refund on the difference!!!!

we were only there over night
hotel was o k room was very cosy but to warm at night only one window you could open but if we opened it somebody got a stiff neck
The staff was pleasant and helpful. We had a triple room which was a reasonable size and comfortable. The premises were somewhat tired. There was a knocked in hole in the bathroom door, which was a very cheap sliding wooden door. We didn't use the pool after all as it was very small. The photos on the website was misleading. We were only staying for one night. It was fine for 1 night and for the price we paid which was an offer price.

Fantastic spa facilities and food
We enjoyed this hotel such friendly staff and
very informative. Great facilities. Ie. 2 swimming pools both heated and sauna with jacuzzi and spa treatments. My wife loved the weekend pampering. Only a 2 star at least a 3 should be.
very informative. Great
Upon arrival parked and went to check in, was greeted by the manager who showed us around everything and showed us to our room, never had that before, in other other hotels normally just given the key and directions to the room!
Very clean, cosy, well decorated room with cracking views over Torquay.
We have arrived at the afternoon and the stuff welcomed us very nicely and gave us a tour around. The television did not work and the owner came and fixed it immidiately. We were sorry we could not stay another night to fully enjoy the place.
