NOTE: this is not the full house. This listing is for the lower level walkout with private entrance that is part of my home. VRBO doesn't have a display option for this set up. The listing is not for an entire house.

Welcome to your new Home Base perched at the top of Cedar Run hill on 3 spacious acres with cherry and apple orchards lining the back of the property. Relax in the country even though you are only 4 miles straight shot into downtown Traverse City. Just 10 minutes to downtown TC shopping, dining and all the events while offering you a quiet and restful nights sleep with a great view of the stars from the hot tub.

This West Side walkout features a private master bedroom with queen sized bed, and a huge shared space bedroom with two queen sized murphy beds. Worry not - the murphy beds are also new with very comfortable new mattresses and 600 thread count sheets. There is a newly updated full bathroom and 2 separate spaces to get ready for your adventures, so there's plenty of room to relax.

The family room features a full sized pool table, coffee bar area with microwave and refrigerator, high top table, and a sliding door straight to the outside where you will find a 4 person hot tub, gas grill, 2 picnic tables under the shade trees, and a fire ring to relax in the evening. Experience quiet country living just10 minutes to downtown, Farm Club, Twin Lakes Park, Long Lake swimming, and several hiking trails nearby. Our favorite, Moomer's Ice Cream, is only 1.5 miles away! You're also less than 30 minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes, wineries, and all the scenic drives the Leelanau Peninsula has to offer.

Accommodations feature a private keyless entrance, outdoor area, and plenty of parking. There are steps down to the entrance, or a walk down the sloping lawn, so please note that fact. Evening hours are meant for winding down and enjoying a campfire or hot tub. Moderate enjoyment is encouraged, please no loud parties.

The owner, Karen, lives on the property on the street level and is happy to interact or respect all the privacy you desire. Need shopping or dining ideas? I've got you covered! If you would like breakfast prepared for you just let me know 24 hours in advance and you can have "bed and breakfast". Additional fees apply based on menu and number of guests.

If there's anything you need, let me know, and if I can I will. Laundry is available as needed.

We are dog friendly, and do require prior approval and conversation before you bring your dog as the owner lives with her two dogs on premises. A purebred German Shorthaired Pointer named Katze (which is Kitty in German) and a small Malti-poo named Kitty. Both dogs are friendly and social, especially the little one! Our property features an invisible fence to keep the babies safe, and depending on the size of your dog, we are happy to share collars so your pet can have some freedom to roam and play (supervised of course) on our three acres.

Here's a few things to note:
- House Broken pets only

Good luck finding a better host!
Staying here was more like staying with an out-of-town friend than it was a rental. The host was very accomodating and funny and provided great suggestions on places to eat and visit. We had a great time exploring the area and look forward to coming back!

Comfortable stay
We came up to visit our son and enjoy the Cherry Festival. The space was as described, maybe better than described. We were too busy to use the hot tub, but it was very convenient, with a nice view. Everything was very clean, the towels were large and plush, and the beds were comfortable. We could occasionally hear movement upstairs, but it was very private and we never felt like we were in someone else’s home. There were little extras that made our stay extra comfortable. The location was convenient for us, and we were unaffected by the extra traffic for the festival.

Nice stay
Overall, perfect location. Quiet. Yet close to downtown activities. I didnt see a firepit and not sure about the hottub. It was empty and looked to need some cleaning. Just one suggestion. A toaster could be helpful and some direction as to the tv. Could it be moved to the general gatering room? The owner was very gracious and quickly responded to any questions we had. I would rent again if l had family coming. Too big just for the 2 of us.

Wonderful peaceful dog-friendly stay in TC
Karen’s place is perfect for exploring all that TC and the surrounding area has to offer. The place was immaculately clean and had more amenities than we could use. Karen is incredibly friendly and was very helpful for recommendations or anything at all that we needed. Having the outdoor space for our dog was great, and Karen made us all feel very welcome. We would definitely stay at Karen’s place again and would highly recommend to others!

Nice place, but bare essentials at property
Karen and her dogs were absolutely lovely, we definitely enjoyed playing in the yard with her dogs. Place was clean and nice but it does not have some amenities that I would say are usually standard. I.e. Kleenex, a freezer, salt or pepper. It has a "kitchenette" with a high top table, keurig and small wine fridge, only plastic utensils and plates. I typically assume a kitchenette has a freezer, maybe one knife to cut an apple or similar. Overall, nice place but not high end on amenities. Also, as you are in the basement of her home, there is some noise coming from upstairs.

Good Homebase
This is a quiet property outside Traverse City but close to many things. It was an easy trip to downtown TC, to the dunes and to the Leelanau peninsula. The kitchen consisted of a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, so not good for preparing a full meal. The pool table was great, though! And the host was available and very hospitable.

Beautiful Traverse City house
Live like a Traverse City local at this big and comfortable house just a short drive from downtown. Very spacious and clean indoors with a lovely big backyard and hot tub outdoors. Ideal if you have a dog. Our dog definitely enjoyed all the space provided both inside and outside and the host’s dogs were very smart and friendly! Also, a great base to explore some of the most beautiful natural spots in the area! Definitely recommended!

Short, dog-friendly stay
Karen was a wonderful host and the property was exactly what we needed for a long weekend. Her property was super dog friendly! A large amount of land for our dog to play on, added bonus is her two adorable dogs on-site we got to visit often. Note- she’s extremely responsible/ accommodating with her dogs and we established our comfort level with her dogs before having everyone meet. The property was peaceful and perfect for a long weekend stay in TC. Maybe a 10 minute or less drive to downtown but also closer to hiking and wineries for our itinerary. We loved having a long day adventuring and then being able to come back with a large space for our dog, unwind, play pool and relax at night. Only thing we will note is there is no kitchen- we knew well before booking and it wasn’t an issue! There is a small fridge, microwave, and coffee station which we really appreciated with left overs/drinks. Since it was just us- and our dog was super curious, we ended up closing the doors to the other living space and we enjoyed that a lot more- so definitely ample space inside!! My fiancé also noted it would be nice to have a designated table to eat at inside- I liked the tables outside- but still maybe something to add. We would definitely stay again! Karen was great!!
