Staff support was lacking. We arrived and inquired about the northern lights and were told to download some aurora apps. There were a few and we tried to make sense of them, meanwhile the aurora was going on outside. We arrived on time to see it but staff was so careless about it -- they were not monitoring the aurora for their guests nor did they provide the the name of the Norwegian weather app which shows the aurora forecasts. We got this App from a guest a day later who had seen the aurora that we missed the day before. We were having dinner in the restaurant while it was going on and this should not have happened if staff at the front desk were more caring. The next day there was too much cloud cover and so we left Sommeroy without seeing the aurora.

Beautiful place to stay. Shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel, marvellous scenery on the way. Easy to walk around the area. Hi-vis vest provide by the hotel. Great location

The hotel is super well located and from there it’s super easy to follow some hiking trails around the island. The views are absolutely amazing and even the way from tromso to Sommarøy it’s super enjoyable. The sauna is big and you can enjoy getting into the water to refresh and experience the artic temperatures 😉. The breakfast buffet was great, although I would have appreciated more variety for the lunch/dinner menu. We had luck and experience the aurora both nights we stayed in Sommarøy.

We stayed in a Harbour Apartment with a deck. It was spacious and nicely equipped. Beautiful views! Very short walk to beach and hotel. Enjoyed the sauna and arctic plunge. Short hike to top of hill at end of boardwalk had spectacular panoramic views!

For breakfast, they're good. For lunch and dinner, they need some variety dishes. Stayed for 2 nights and as they're the only place to eat, they need to have a varied menu. Pizza and burgers aren't going to cut repeat dinners and lunches. It's just a bit too boring and unhealthy.

We recommend staying just for the view and location. The property is located right on the water, and offered incredible sea views with a beach area right next to the cabin. We even saw the most vibrant northern lights right from our balcony! The kitchen is a bit lacking in terms of essentials and the beds are not the most comfortable… but it has the basics for a comfortable stay, and the views and location more than make up for it. Highly recommend.

Beautiful coastal area. Quiet and serene. We were there in the fall to see the Northern Lights and had the most amazing views of them, right from the deck of our cabin. The facilities are welcoming and comfortable and the food was very good.

Not a good location for midnight sun due to the mountain to the north, which was disappointing because I was under the impression it would be good view. Not good ventilation in my room: hot when sun shines on window and no way to cool down and had campfire smoke smell enter room in middle of night briefly. Scalding hot water which is difficult to regulate. Decent bed.

One of the most beautiful and serene places I've been. Once you're there, there's not much around - and that's great. We did plenty of cycling, hiking and sauna/ plunge in the beautiful sea.

Such a lovely cool hotel with fabulous views. Large window in room which was great with the fantastic views. I only stopped one night but would definitely be worth stopping a bit longer to take advantage of what the hotel offers and some of the trips. Very spacious room. Complimentary coffee. Food served all day. Very easy to get to from Tromso, fab journey, great scenery. My trip was April, but would like to return during the winter. Great.

The location of our home was exceptional. Beautiful views. The hike itself was very spacious as well but did lacy a few amenities. Blow dryer, coffee, water, etc. would be nice to have that included. The front desk staff was for the most part unfriendly and honestly rude.
