Weekend Getaway at Douglas Place
The Douglas Place is in a beautiful setting with great privacy and seclusion. Sitting right next to the woods you can see all sorts of birds and wildlife. Kitchen was well equipped and everything was easy to find. Nicole and family are great hosts and very welcoming. My only complaints would be the beds are small and after the second night my back started to get stiff.I also think outside seating could be improved a bit. Covered porches don't have the best views to the woods. All in all though it was a great stay and would recommend to anyone looking to get out and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Peace in nature
I made a slight error with my scheduling and ended up arriving a day earlier than planned. However, I was incredibly fortunate to have Nicole and her husband be so accommodating and kind enough to let me check in a night ahead. Their hospitality was truly wonderful! Once settled in, I couldn't help but appreciate the greatness of the cabin. It was impeccably clean and well-stocked with everything I needed. Although my days were occupied with work, I made sure to make the most of my evenings. The night sky was simply breathtaking, adorned with mesmerizing stars. And to top it off, I was lucky enough to capture some stunning pictures of a rainbow just across from the cabin. Without a doubt, I already know that I'll be returning to this incredible place. It left such a positive impression on me, and I can't wait to experience it all over again!

Little Farmhouse on the Mountain
Our stay was peaceful and enjoyable. We loved the peace and quiet. Our dog loved to run all over the yard. We built fires, at s’mores and spent our days visiting local spots. The house was clean and we found everything we needed for cooking meals. Since there were only 4 of us so we had plenty of space for our stuff. We will certainly consider staying here again.

Great Memorial Day Weekend!
We rented this place for our friends to come and visit Armenia Mountain for the holiday weekend. Our friends had never been up to Bradford County. They absolutely loved the scenery and the setting. Everyone had a great time visiting the greenhouse, the animals, and riding around on the mountain. We are so glad that Nicole and Steve have this place to offer. We can’t wait to this again!

A Nice Pet Friendly Place To Stay In The Country
The Douglas Place met all of our needs for a quiet place to stay for the weekend. There was lots of room to let the dogs run around the yard without worrying about them bothering the neighbors. The cabin is clean and well stocked with everything that we needed. Nicole was very responsive to all of our questions. Overall everything was very good!

Uncomfortable beds and not as advertised
The beds are so uncomfortable, there is an infestation of lady bugs, and we could not get cell service over WIFI to work which was a deal breaker for us - so we cancelled and left our 30 day stay. The short story is we had to cancel as victims of the coronavirus pandemic. Nicole let us come a day early, and we told her we were coming because our daughter needs to attend online classes because college has cancelled housing because of the coronavirus. We had a small window to make sure this was working, and it passed. Nicole wanted to work with us to turn WIFI calling on over our phones etc. etc., but we were having trouble calling each other. Not a good sign that our daughter would be able to talk to her classmates, professors, and video stream classes. The first thing Nicole had said was that she did not want a bad review, so why she we agreed on a number and then she went back on that and wanted more is beyond me for the cancellation. VRBO told Nicole (they conference you in) she would not have to pay any fees to VRBO, but we got hit with their fees. VRBO also said WIFI not working is not a reason to cancel and get a full refund, and I would disagree with that statement – hosts should not be able to misrepresent anything, and you should not be expected to troubleshoot to make things work. This is a hunting cabin, the farm with the animals is no where near the cabin, and the water is rusty brown with no water softening system.

Quiet and relaxing ❤️
This was the perfect location for our vacation. We wanted to be in the Finger Lakes area, but did not want to stay in the hustle and bustle of City Life. This home had everything we needed and more, and Nicole was adamant about having us notify her if we needed anything else. This location is extremely quiet and Serene, and perfect for being able to disconnect from the electronics that wear us down everyday. A visit to Greener Pastures Farm, as well as Milky Way Farms, is an absolute must while you are in this area, especially if you plan on cooking meals at home. The products you will find that these farms are simply amazing, *natural*, and cannot be topped by any five star restaurant. (Take a cooler with you to both locations, and fill it up! And remember to buy extra, to take home with you) This was, by far, the best VRBO experience we have had! We spent our days in several different cities in New York and Pennsylvania, but it was wonderful to come back to the home at night and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Nicole made us feel as if we were long time friends that had come to visit, not just strangers staying in the home. Our favorite part of visiting Greener Pastures Farm was the "Nora special " tour of the farm. And, if you are living fairly local to this area, Greener Pastures Farm products are available through Delivered Fresh.

Back in Time
Lovely old homestead whose accommodations reminded me of my grandmothers house with the antique stove and kitchen table and cabinets but with modern conveniences of todays world. We enjoyed walking the loop around the farm as well as taking a tour of the greenhouse and livestock. We visited our favorite swimming hole on Schrader Creek which was worth the drive on a hot day and visited friends in the area. Clean mountain air and quietness helped us to reflect on our many blessings amid Gods handiwork.

Perfect hosts, relaxing and wonderfully quiet experience. Great for kids, and bring the bikes!
Nicole and Steve were welcoming, not overbearing, helpful and terrific to be with. Vacationing with seven children ages 3-13, the cabin was well appointed with everything we could need and then some. The decor was a wonderful mix of old and new, and the setting was gorgeous. Kids spent a lot of time with the animals, biking the gravel roads, exploring the woods, making campfires in the firepit, fishing the creek adjacent to the property or just enjoying the many books and magazines around the cabin. We even did fireworks at night for the kids, and on a clear night, lay on the ample lawns to gaze at the stars. Towels, blankets, throw rugs, and more were provided, as well as an abundance of household things like papertowels, extra tissues, lightbulbs, toilet paper, lighters and even sparklers that the kids immensely enjoyed. The wind atop the mountain was perfect for kite flying, which we did too. We visited many nearby local farm stands aside the beautiful roads, visited the "Grand Canyon of PA" about an hour away, and enjoyed constant views of the aptly-named endless mountains all around! We also toured a goat dairy not far away, and checked out the nearby small-america towns in the surrounding countryside. We visited Mount Pisgah State Park nearby as well, and the children loved the environmental center too. Back at the cabin, there was so much wildlife around to see - we saw does, bucks, fawns and more practically every day of our week long stay, both on the property and on the nearby roads. When our car got stuck in the mud due to rains, the owners were so helpful in getting our car out too. As an added bonus, we loved not having cell service in the cabin - much more peaceful than the pull of constantly being at everyone's beck and call all the time... and when we needed the phone, a short ride away was service. If you are looking for rustic solitude, at a fair price, with great hosts, in the rural countryside - you don't need to look anywhere else! We highly recommend this property - don't hesitate to book with them - and we've stayed at many Homeaway properties before. Trust us - you will love this! Than you Nicole and Steve for a great vacation!

Great Family Getaway
We stayed at the Douglas Place May 26-28, 2018. Nicole was extremely friendly and helpful. The cabin had everything we needed. We had 5 adults and 4 very young children and had plenty of room. The kids loved the animals. The greenhouse was great, but unfortunately I did not have enough room in our vehicles to take home any of her beautiful plants. We have family in the area, so even though it was not a sightseeing, hunting, or fishing trip for us, it is definitely convenient for those activities. I'm sure we will be returning again. Thanks again Nicole and family!
